I was looking around for cheap cinema ticket deals and I found some where I least expected - on the Event cinema website. If you look up any Tuesday session, you should see an extra ticket category starting with 'Cinebuzz Half Price - Special Offer'. You'll need to login to your Cinebuzz account or signup to be able to buy the tickets. The discount is based on a full priced adult ticket so you can't get half price child, pensioner or student tickets.

I got two gold class tickets for an evening session at $21 a pop plus a ludicrous booking fee of $6.70 (sadly not discounted). The discount was based on the maximum adult ticket price of $42 rather than the actual session adult ticket price of $39.50. You can avoid the booking fees by buying the tickets at the cinema but you'll need a cinebuzz card.

Obviously excludes areas in lockdown (sorry y'all).

  Limited time? I've been doing this for ages way before lockdown at George St. cinema. Tuesdays Gold Class always half price and yet still always empty.

  Also yes, booking fees are ridiculous and multiply the more tickets you buy which makes zero sense. Would understand a flat charge but not for each and every ticket in the same order. We thought Ticketmaster was scummy…

  $9.75 plus $1.50 booking fee for the movie i want to see at Morley but if i buy a ticket from the RAC online shop, it's only $10
