Seeking Ideas to Consolidate Individual Gift Cards into One

Hi All,
I have redeemed my reward points on credit card and got myself multiple prepaid mastercards on $100 denominations (total worth of $700). I am planning to buy a 65" TV worth around 2K in the near future. Not sure if I will find a better bargain in JB , HN, TGG or ebay. Can you please suggest best way to consolidate all the cards into one so that I can make best use of prepaid cards before they expire in 6 months time? I thought of adding them to paypal and swiping during regular shopping. This way small change will be leftover on each card. Seeking advise from smart ozbargainers.
Thanks in advance!!

If they are prepaid mastercards couldn't you just buy another (higher value) prepaid visa/mc giftcard from Woolies/Coles and pay the entire balance in split payments across the giftcards?

You'll loose a few dollars on the fee but retain the flexilbility to use them (almost) anywhere.

    • Most online stores not accepting split payments as @djkelly69 said. I used $100 prepaid card in Coles couple of time. Say approximately $97. Not sure how much is left on the card and spending remaining amount is bit tricky. Also over period of time, i will forget how much is left on each card.

I have a few $100 prepaid visa cards which I am having issues spending, due to both lockdown and because it seems not many if any online stores allow split payments.

My plan is to just spend on groceries in person, as they allow split payments. You could then set aside the money you saved/spent on groceries for the TV.

  • Withdraw as cash?

    1) For Gift Cards Consolidated Record, use, track from multiple retailers i use the app Card Smash.

    2) For prepaid cards, try to load them in your Revolut or Wise account and use via Google Pay. I believe it should work.

I usually just use these up to pay my utility, council and health insurance. All of these allow split payment and small chamge can also be used to pay. All of these can be paid online without any fees.
