    I so need a third monitor though… all the messages appear in the middle of the two screens when you only have two :(

    Can you play multiplayer on a LAN?

    Never used Steam before. Is it possible to install or activate on 2 PCs [edit: and play multiplayer]? If not, is the multiplayer good enough to warrant buying 2 licences?

      OK found some answers.

      You can apparently install it on multiple PCs but only one can be "online" to Steam at one time. If "offline" to Steam, PCs are still able to play LAN multiplayer. So I only need to buy one copy for my kids to play against each other. Will give it a try.

        You should also note that for two players with the same steam ID to play together, you have to change the display name on one. So the process you need is:

        [PC1] Login to steam
        [PC1] Go into offline mode
        [PC1] Launch Civ5
        [PC2] Login to Steam
        [PC2] Change steam name (in settings)
        [PC2] Launch Civ5

        Just something we discovered at a LAN party which had less legit copies than players :)

    Got it for $1.40 with left over credit from a referal link, NICE!
    So for $1.40 I essentially got Duke Nukem Forever and Civ 5.

      Don't get the DLC. Mission packs and additional civs aren't worth it. Wait for the expansion which adds new game mechanics.

    Just bought it although the mandatory registration and CAPTCHA code was painful.
    Would've given up if it wasn't a good offer.
