American Express Connect Daily Deals during March

Anyone get today's daily deal which was a KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer? I tried to submit my payment at 12:04 and was sold out.

Is it a matter of how quickly you hit the "buy now" button or how quickly you complete the whole checkout process that determines whether you might be successful or not?

      • My kitchenaid came in just over a week and I was expecting my other goodies should arrive round about the same timeframe. To be fair, they did say up to 28 days…

  • Any idea how can I claim warranty if the appliances bought from AMEX Connect needed repair? I have not been supplied with a tax invoice. Maybe I should email them and ask for one.

    • Yep and probably need it to register for the warranty as well.

  • site was unbelievably slow today!

    • How long did it take you to get in?

      • probably wasn't until 12:03 before it finally loaded (kept stopping and refreshing until it worked). How about you?

        • 12:09 but wasn't interested in this deal

  • Is it just me or they're selling the Dyson again?

  • still cant get in,, what is it?

  • mothercare gift card $100 for $25
    again..

    • thanks, cant bloody get in, when did you get in?

      • can only see the offer but cant get through the rest…

    • For me it's only the first time so it's all good :)

The missus and I both managed to get one, just in time for one of the kid's birthday.

  • The site hung for 15minutes for me … now expired :(

Oh well can't win them all!

    • yes i could only see offer around 12:15, and by the time go to it, sold out

  • Missed it today :( sad
I got one last time, thinking to get another one, so that I can buy an Ergo with both gift card

Got the Delonghi and Weber Q this morning, looking forward to use them this weekend.

On another note, for those of you waiting for the Olympus camera, it won't be shipped out till later next week or early the week after. The rep didn't cite any reasons for the delay but their T&C did state up to 28 days for delivery…all good.

  • i managed to get the panasonic video camera, any news when its being delivered?

    • Didn't ask as I didn't get one of those. Waiting for their response re the Dyson though.

  • TH-L32E3A TV at moment …can buy, but don't think i will

  • snapped up the tv, pretty awesome for IPS and full hd!

    • i got it too, how much was postage?

      • $20

      • i didnt even see it haha oops..how can we check? edit: thanks!

  • Was gonna get the TV but for 32" its a 80cm tv so decided against it.

    • Lots of us think we are going to get it but it's usually sold out before we complete checkout.

they should have a feature where it saves your detail.. having to scramble to type in your details everytime sucks

  • Who got the TV today? I bought one. Btw, my Delonghi coffee machine delivered today.

    • could have got the TV i think, but didnt want it, powergirl are you in Syd? how was delonghi machine delivered? Aussie post or courier? im in melb, wonder when mine is coming…

      • Yes, in Sydney. Items are shipped from Sydney using auspost eparcel, signature required. I am sure you will receive yours early next week :)

    • I wish it's something substantially bigger like 46 inch or more…

  • Damm , I was looking for a 32 inch tv, missed it

  • Ha ha the day I'm away from my PC at 12 is the day they're selling something I don't need :) I panicked at the thought oh noes I might miss out on something good!

    • LOL… that is good then. I saw the size and went meh… need to have minimum 40". Grats to all that got it though.

      • Could've bought it still as I've asked someone to check it out on my behalf. As soon as they said 32" TV…I'm like nah thanks but no thanks. Would've been nice to use it as a monitor given its IPS panel but not like I actually need it!

  • Any Amex credit card which has $0 annual fee, and which qualifies for these deals?????

    • the promotion ends 31st March.. so.. not sure if they can deliver and activate your card fast enough?

      • Yep, even if you get approved like today it will still take a week to send the card and PIN out.

      • 30th March. It was mentioned by Cooni? that any card will work for this promotion

        • :)

  • Booyah. Got myself the Kitchenaid today.

The connect.aefactory.com.au part of checkout is usually quick but even that slowed down today.

Managed to grab another one today. Just the perfect gift for my mate's wedding.

      • LOL @ the neg. I think I would be worthy of the neg if I flogged it off eBay but how is it gifting it to somebody worthy for a neg?

        • I voted you back up. A gesture like that is worthy of it. :)

    • OMG! Yes! Server was slow as molasses, but I managed to get the KitchenAid as well. Happy days!

    • Grr… Refreshed at 1200 and soo slow. You guys using some super method of getting there quicker?

      • Yep KSM150.

        • Thanks. I clicked Buy Now so quickly that I didn't actually see what model I was buying.

  • I had submitted by 12:01 but my work proxy server blocked the next step… :( massive fail.

Oh this is a fun watch… need to research what I just bought.

    • Just look at those USA prices compared to our local prices.

  • Interesting to note there were 38 on offer today. Odd (even) number considering they usually offer 40 items for such deals.

    • +1

Maybe they accidentally sold 42 last time. :)

  • If my calculations are correct, that wimpy Jamie Oliver frying pan should be up tomorrow.

    • (nvm)

    • I think you might be right…

Amex or its promotion arm have forgotten to disable their UAT servers for public viewing.

    • Inspect Element FTW.

      • Good find. I wasn't thinking the HTML might tell much of a story….

        • +1

Over the years, I've learnt that many companies just don't invest much time and effort into locking things down. Can't complain in this case, I guess. Our gain. :-)

As much as I want the Galaxy Tab, I won't be attempting it on Thursday. I shared what I shared today because I've had my fun with AmexConnect (and spent way too much money on it too!) and would dearly love for those who missed out to get what they want this week.

Hopefully, they continue to offer deals like this into April and beyond. I've definitely enjoyed what they've had to offer more than the crap that COTD and Yellow Pages Offers serve up on a daily basis.

  • +1

If the Amex's UAT box is anything to go by…

    Tomorrow - Jamie Oliver's pan
    Wednesday - Samsonite suite case

    http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:ssRTEr4…

    • +3

      Galaxy Tab on Thursday.
      Gold Class tickets on Friday.

And that should mark the end of the promotion.

    • please explain what you mean by UAT etc? how to see this info for myself? thanks

Basically there was a site that went live in December last year made by (insert IT developer) to show Amex what the site will look like and to get approval of everything before it went live.

Google has a cache of this (now disabled, but wasn't disabled last week) site.

        • ok cool :) so you were able to see what will be selling every day? nice! any hints from what you could see on the UAT site if they will continue deals into April?

  • Can someone please advise what Jamie Oliver Pan is it how much?

Also assuming you can get the site to load are you able to order more than one set of gold class tickets ?

    • Cook like a pro with a Jamie Oliver Tefal Hard Anodised 30cm Frypan for $99 RRP $219

    • Google says $129 is about the price you'll pay retail. Not really a bargain IMHO…

      • I really do need a new fry pan though, does the $99 include postage?

        • Probably not, only small items (Gold Class, Mothercare cards) have been free so far.

        • +1

Plus postage I think. My recommendation is try and find one of those Kitchenaid fry pan, mine's been going strong for the past year copping quite a lot of abuse.

    • Before you could change your email in the connect.aefactory.com.au part of the transaction where you enter your details.
You need different purchaser details or the site rejects you saying only one purchase allowed.

This has since changed and email address is passed to the server based on login to the main amexconnect.com.au site (and isn't modifiable on the checkout page). It takes about 6 clicks to change logins and isn't feasible to do this before a deal sells out.

You could have multiple browsers or computers, each logged in with a different account and start purchasing simultaneously though.

      • So even if you're using the same Amex card as long as you have more than one email address you can place more than one order?

        • Yes, this is how I purchased 6 lots of Gold Class tickets before.

        • Problem is you'll need different browsers opened with different logins otherwise you might lose out.

        • Also, be wary of pounding a server with too many requests from the same IP. Some systems have mechanisms in place to put you at the bottom of the queue when this happens.

        • i can't believe they allow this when they send the orders out afterward. it is not really fair to let one person have multiple when there is a limited supply. i would be too worried they cancel all orders when ordering multiple. Also feels like a bad karma thing to do, being overly greedy lol :D

    • I got one of those jamie Oliver pans.. horrible… worst buy ever

      • Thanks :) Now thinking about getting the kitchen Aid one instead as mentioned above have heard good things elsewhere too

        • Yeah and at one stage, David Jones were dropping them to $29 and I bought 3 of them. #1 is on its last leg, 2 to go. I think they're $80 each normally? They're made by Meyer, the maker of circulon or however you spell it.

        • I followed the advice of 'america's test kitchen'

          T-Fal Professional Non-Stick

          and Calphalon unison nonstick

          both really good pans

  • I can't imagine Amex will run this beyond March, must've cost them a packet by now with all the ads (radio/MX) and reduced price goodies that we've been able to pick up. Well besides the Mothercare voucher…they've been fairly cheap before.

  • Wanted the Galaxy Tab so badly, missed out the first time. Anyone got any tip that the page can load faster for me to get one on Thursday please.

Missed out the Kitchenaid today as the page was loading so slow for me. I got one last time but thinking if can get another one for my sister-in-law that would be great!

    • Mini2 gave a tip above but I didnt get the hint

      • Oh no…I don't get that too! Please mini2 more hints?

        • +1

I think cooni and svale got it..

        • Yes please share. I can experiment tomorrow with an offer I don't want to buy.
