What is the best way to transfer 50 pounds from the UK?

Hi, a friend in the UK wants to give me 50 pounds and am wondering what is the best way to transfer 50 pounds from their UK account to my AUS account.

I have an ING bank account and Paypal.

Is there a quick and easy way with minimal fees?

Thanks in advance

I've used each of these at different times and they have been good. I think OFX used to have some kind of partnership with ING but then they stopped it

50 pound note in the mail in a Christmas card

    • The way the postal service is at the moment, it might just get there for Christmas.

      • More likely the money will never arrive

They can buy you an Amazon AU gift card :)

    • I think that is a good idea, or OP could nominate a different (digital) gift card for their friend to buy.
We usually buy gift cards (for people in the UK) for restaurants, etc.

Good way to pay your taxes too.

They can also buy you a Prezze gift card which you can redeem for gift card of your choosing.

  • OP is bored.

    50 pounds of what?

    • Exactly, depending on if it's feathers vs gold bricks for example, the shipping is going to be different

      • But which one is heavier? πŸ˜‰

        • The gold bricks duh doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one!! πŸ˜’πŸ˜€

        • I remember that trick question from Form 1 maths about 60 years ago!!!

As I recall, the question was - "which is heavier, a ton of feathers or a ton of bricks". Every kid in the class got it wrong! Our maths could only improve from that day on - though mine didn't sadly. Maths has always been my bete noir.

  • I heard of the fuel shortage, but I don’t think this will work.
