[TAS] 50% off Parking with Easypark (Hobart Waterfront) @ City of Hobart

130

Excellent deal for those of you in Tassie and sick of the outrageous $5+ an hour parking around Hobart and hard to use meters. You must use the Easypark app and it ends Sunday 3rd of October.

This works out to be $2.75 an hour with the app. The blue and grey areas are the half price zones.

Take your partner down to Honey Badger in Salamanca Place on the weekend without breaking the bank on parking or come party with me at Grape!

  • Wow, when did parking become so expensive? We left Hobart Jan 2020 and it did not cost that much then. They can't blame an influx of tourist for lack of parking.

    • Paid parking is a parking management tool. This is just going to cause unnecessary congestion, more people driving around looking for a park. Waste of time and will give little benefit to traders. Hardly a bargain. Would be better off closing the street down (i.e. zero parking) and having a street party.

      • I park in Salamanca just about every day and finding a park (daytime) is never an issue. If you want congestion take a trip down Liverpool St around lunch time.

The Council owned carparks have also reduced their free parking time from 90 minutes to 60 minutes and the hourly charge has gone up after that. Making it hard for customers to decide to shop in the CBD and suspect other centres like Eastlands will benefit greatly to the deteriment of City shop keeper's ๐Ÿ˜‘

  • It's probably a bargain just having a responsive app to use instead of those horribly lagy Meters

    • A couple years ago when the app was first introduced in the north you could keep extending the time before it ran out. Making 1 hour zones become 3 hour zones. They patched that.

The other thing they patched is that when you end parking for a zone after X amount of time you have to wait 10 minutes to run it again.
