Got one to use with a pc, need a cheap Xbox Series S deal now and my 3 year gamepass sub will be amazing.

    • Did that 3 year game pass deal work for you šŸ˜œ

  • -2

Repairing Xbox controllers are pretty easy, open replace solder and presto.

A working controller, however micro usb has a reduced range and syncing issues compared to type-c.

  • +1

    Just need a series xā€¦

    • Maybe that will be next.

    • If you want one badly.
Put your name on JB HI-FI wait list. Expect to wait up to 3 weeks.
Use Suncorp rewards for 5% off gift cards.

      • The site says not taking anymore orders at this time?

  • I need a switch pro controller deal badly

  • Will this work for my iPad pro?

    • +1

      Yes, these ones have Bluetooth.

      • -6

Canā€™t only be Bluetooth as they list Xbox One compatibility and the original Xbox One didnā€™t have Bluetooth.

        Edit: yep not just Bluetooth

        Includes Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth

        https://www.xbox.com/en-AU/accessories/controllers/xbox-wireā€¦

        • +4

Correct, but they still have Bluetooth.
They need a firmware update from a windows PC to not have dropout issues though.
After that they are are amazing for iPad/Apple TV.

            • +3

@PainToad: No one is saying it only has Bluetooth??

      • +4

Apologies perch, read it as ā€œthese only haveā€ instead of ā€œthese ones haveā€.

  • Will this work with Xbox one? I need more Xbox one controllers, may as well get one compatible with the series X.

    • Yes.

    • 100% confirmed (posting this for future reference to anyone reading and wondering if backwards compatible).

Read the enclosed instructions about syncing with the Xbox One, but basically its:

      Turn on Xbox One.
Press Xbox button on controller to turn it on.
Press the new connection button on the Xbox itself (front of console, lower right). Console light will flash.
Press and hold the new connection button on the controller FOR 3 SECONDS (top of controller). Controller light will flash.

It'll sync with Xbox One, then it'll immediately say it needs an update.
Download will start (takes a while).
Controller will then be updated and work exactly like the older controllers.

    Price with adapter still high.

    • You probably donā€™t need the adapter unless you want to connect more than 4 controllers?

      • unless you want to connect more than 4 controllers?

As my understand it is better to use adapter for Windows over bluetooth.

        • If you really care about latency, plug it in.

          • @askbargain: The worry is more than latency apparently. Bluetooth connectivity with the controller from what I understand for some random reason causes FPS dips in Windows

          • +1

@askbargain: Not all PC's have bluetooth built in.

            • @PorkHunt: Bluetooth adapter is cheaper anyway. Haven't heard about the FPS dips though.

              • @askbargain:

                Bluetooth adapter is cheaper anyway.

                I already have BT4 USB

Haven't heard about the FPS dips though.

Good to know, in that case I don't really need the one with adapter?

I am still using the 360 one with wireless adapter, still works OK but it won't work with xcloud.

                • @superforever:

360 one with wireless adapter, still works OK but it won't work with xcloud.

Some confirmed 360 wireless controller works with windows xcloud.

  • Cheers picked one up

  • Is this the best controller to get for XCloud?

  • How much warranty controllers have. Its around 18 months for the controller we had and it came with xbox x and it is not working well.

    • You can look up the warranty on the Microsoft website; input the serial from behind the battery pack. I believe it is 2 years in Australia

      • As feedback the warranty is very good and microsoft are great to deal with.

    • Warranty time does not determine ACL "reasonable" stupidity that they use to determine if products should be replaced.

2021 and these controllers still use batteries -.-

    • +3

Easy to source and replace years down the track.

    • +1

      Wish my phone did too.

    • +2

It's better than the built-in battery

    • As opposed to… nuclear power?

    • I LOVE the ability to use your own batteries.
I can cycle my rechargable's in there as I need, instead of a built in battery that I can't change.

  • Thanks OP. Can also confirm that if you have the coupon from Amazon after adding a non Visa card, this can be bought down further to 56AUD.

    • the coupon from Amazon after adding a non Visa card

yeah that is gift card should work.

    • I dont think I've seen that yet - how would i get this coupon from Amazon? Is it automatic when I add a non-Visa or did I miss the boat?

      • +1

        Is it automatic

Auto to your gift card balance, did you receive email from Amazon regarding the promo?

      • +1

it's targeted from what I know, can't find the post here on OzB sorry.
yes its automatic, after adding a non visa card the coupon / gift card reflects on your account 30 days after.

  • Expired. Reported.

  • Pretty sure they make a huge margin even at that price

  • Now I need Xbox :)

    • I've got an old Xbox one (VCR) haven't used it for years until yesterday, now I've got 3yrs of GPU and a new controller. My kids have been going crazy with sports games like , FIFA, NFL, MLB the show and NBA Live since game pass, didn't realise how massive these games are, now I'll be on the hunt for an external HDD.
