Where Do I Sell My Old Phones for Cash?

I got a Oneplus 7T 128gb and Samsung Galaxy s8 64gb, all in pretty good conditions with minor cosmetic wears.

I heard Mazuma mobile is a decent place? but then I also saw reviews of them claiming screen burn in magically appearing once they received the phone and give you shitty price?

    Gumtree or fb marketplace.

    Remember cash on pickup.

    • Would you say ebay is also a safe option if you want to send it through postal service?

  • The problem with reviews is you can never tell who's lying, the vendor or the individual. Since Mazuma will send it back to you for free, there's nothing lost if you try it. Burn in is pretty hard to notice if you're not looking for it, especially when you have on-screen buttons that never move. It's not like they can make up that it has burn-in, these people should just ask for their phone back if they don't believe it.

I'd just flog it on facebook/gumtree, cash only, face to face handover only (or whatever restrictions where you are allow).

I tend to hand down/sell cheaply my phone to a family member who needs it, too much of a hassle to deal with anything online if no one will do a quick cash handover for a reasonable price.

As SF3 said, Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace are good places to sell old devices as there is no middle man; you're directly selling to the person receiving the phone. No commission or fees, and you can negotiate directly with the recipient.

I've used Mazuma a few times, no issues. Cash in bank within 4 weeks of lodging request.

    +1 for Mazuma

Also saw https://catchtradein.com.au/ recently. If you have your eye on something from Catch they'll give you more in 'vouchers' for the trade-in.

Mazuma or Mobile Monster are good if you don't want to deal with the great unwashed of Gumtree and FBM. Tbh pricing can be the same.

    • yh that's exactly why I ask about selling to these shops, I really can't be bothered with FBM and Gumtree's animalistic wasteland anymore.

    • In my experience you will get a much better price via Gumtree or facebook. You just need to know what it is worth and ignore the fools that will make stupidly low offers.

  • Cash Converters if you don't want to wait for weeks.

  • FBM is great as it seems that my items are sold faster than eBay. Plus no headache when dealing with Paypal dispute.

  • Gumtree and FBM are ok if you have patience to deal with the idiots and low ballers. Eventually you will get a fair price and no selling costs.
