I didn't know you can get a new giftcard as a change.
I always under impression we have to finish it in one transaction.Something new to learn every day
had the same impression.
but on the other day, we had a $100 gc and spent around $85. when we checked with the cashier about what our option was, she offered us a $10 gc from the counter along with $5 change.

No. In the end I just took them to Bunnings and tried to pay with them. As soon as they scan them they can tell you if there is anything left on the cards.
its 2022… bunnings still havent figured out a way to check balance on their e gift cards ??
Almost 2023 and didn't wanna do this, but looks like I've gotta go into the store and waste their staff time because Bunnings won't solve a digital gift card problem via online.
Apparently you can email the giftcard team to confirm the balance … not any better a solution - but at least it doesnt involve leaving the house!

I have a $100 gift card and if I only purchase some small dollar amount of product each time, I will probably end up having more than 10 gift cards with me.
Cards are relinquished to the cashier when used. You get new card(s) and/or up to 9.95 cash as your change. So it should have full face value.
