Is This Wobble on Ozito Hammer Drill or Is This Expected?

Hi
Purchased Ozito brushless hammer drill during the recent deal. Tried drilling into wood and noticed the chuck wobbling when I put a bit of pressure while drilling. Afraid that the drill bit might break, I got a replacement from Bunnings. Now having the same issue with this replacement as well.
What man I doing wrong? Or is this expected?
Drill bit 3.5 mm wooden bit - works fine with my electric hammer drill- no wobble at all…. However the electric drill has much faster rpm.

Any help is much appreciated.

That's not normal…. seems like the chuck hasn't been attached properly or is just a faulty part that's not even. If in doubt, go exchange for another one or refund. Bunnings is good like that.

when I put a bit of pressure while drilling

Wobbly and pressure is no good! Watch your hands…!

  • I have this drill, mine doesn't wobble like that. Looks like a bad batch of chucks

You asked this several times in drill deals over the last week. I have responded several times. Now we have a dedicated thread about it. This is next level.

    • Thanks for your response on my post In the deal itself. Based on your previous feedback, I did infact replace my drill with another one. The reason I created this forum post is because the replacement drill also has the same issues. Wasn’t sure if it’s me doing something wrong or if I m the one getting drills from a bad batch or something else.
Always appreciate you guys taking time to respond to such naive questions.

      • I just watched the video. Hard to tell from the camera perspective but it's not set to reverse is it?

        • Lol no … it’s drilling in eventually but it’s very shaky. Video is not doing justice to the wobble that I can feel

      • Try another model or brand.

  • The old brushed model does not do this, drilled many 1mm holes an am happy with it. And if the trigger is let go at full speed the nice smell of carbon is a bonus!

Take it back to bunnings and go to the trade desk. Explain the issue and show them. The staff who know how to use the product should be able to tell you if it's product or user error. If replacing, don't leave the store until they can show you how it's meant to work properly. It'll save you a 3rd trip.

    • Ah didn’t know I could do that, will check with the staff themselves. Thanks

  • Regardless of price I would never accept this is a drill, if you were drilling into steel and had that kick happen you would likely snap the drill bit.

  • Nope, not normal. To me it looks like either the drill bit was not fixed correctly or the chuck. If you can confirm the drill bit was aligned correctly and fixed firmly, then it was the chuck.
