Bought one, cheers OP. Doubt it’s worth $400 but the Mrs likes these pandora boxes and the extra $10 voucher is a nice touch.

    • Did you need to buy something else as it requires $100 spending?

      • +1

Bought two bags, one for me and one for the Mrs. Na I just misread it I guess.

  • +7

There's another box also with a slight variation in products.

      Got one of each. Thanks

    • Need to update to this box linked by headphonejack, as the original one doesn't seem available (no add to cart button).
And perfect little present for daughter.

  • +10

    Shouldn’t samples be free?

    • +1

      in NYC samples are free

      • They are free at DJ/Myers too. You just need to strike some rapport and be genuine.

    • +2

If you like free samples, Korea is the place to be

        North or South?

        • +8

Depends if you want to sample life 1984 style

  • +9

@DavidJonesMarketingTeam I'd love to see a mens box

    • +14

      That’s what she said

  • +1

That RRP doesn't seem legit, not listed on the price but rather in the description. Bit misleading.

  • +11

    RRP $400 X doubt

    • +1

      +1
but I bought it anyway :')

      • agreed, might not be worth $400, but for $60 still seems like a decent deal for my missus.

  • +1

Please don't be fooled by the RRP at David Jones. Incredibly misleading.

  • Not even gonna bother, 100% will be shortpicked and refunded

    • +2

It just launched so I doubt this will happen

  • +1

How do I receive the voucher? Would that be delivered with the samples??

  • Are the products in this even good?

    • I like hunter lab, marvis and tom ford. Glasshouse is okay, wouldn't really buy any of the others.

      • +16

As a dental professional, I recommend using toothpaste that contain fluoride in one form or another. Marvis toothpaste does not contain fluoride (unless they've changed their formulation - correct me if I'm wrong), and their other ingredients are pretty much typical filler ingredients with little to no proven ability to fight decay or improve gingival health. Their website and product descriptions are pretty misleading imo with their claim to "prevent plaque and tooth decay". They also claim that the "technique behind Marvis toothpaste is based on the long-standing traditional methods used by generations before", whatever that means.

I have nothing against marketing to make your product more attractive, but I feel like you're being duped if you spend 4-5x the money for an inferior product in just about every way, maybe except for the taste?

        • I had a dentist recommend to put spread some toothpaste on my teeth and not rinse it for help with the fluoride effectiveness.

Have you heard of this method before?

          • +10

@iNeed2Pee: Yes, it could be helpful to put fluoride-containing toothpaste on early decay areas. Technically rinsing after brushing with toothpaste is never recommended because it basically washes away all the fluoride in contact with your teeth (hence why when you're at the dental office they put that sticky fluoride paste on and tells you not to rinse for 30 min). But it's hard to get used to, so my advice is just to rinse as little as possible.

            • +1

@Dr Fruit: Fantastic, thanks for your reply:) Appreciate it!

          • +5

@iNeed2Pee: Something I only learned the last few years. Brush your teeth with no water on the toothpaste and after you’ve finished brushing, swirl that paste like mouthwash and the kicker that I was only showed recently is, after you spit, do NOT wash your mouth out with water. Leave the residue in your mouth(teeth) for maximum effectiveness. Also don’t drink or eat for 30 minutes. I know some will be like ‘duh!’. I thought I’d share in case anyone else out there was as ignorant(dumb) as me.

        • do you have a recommended/preferred (publicly available) toothpaste that you use daily?

          • +2

@mrdunu: I personally use Sensodyne (they’re not paying me to say this, I swear). Went to a dental conference one time where the Sensodyne booth demonstrated their effectiveness by giving us ice cream immediately after using their toothpaste. I actually felt no sensitivity after. Not saying that I completely believe it…. But it was cool :)

That said, I still regularly use Colgate toothpaste as well ;)

            • @Dr Fruit: Great, thanks for that! I’m currently using the Colgate renewal for the 3% hydrogen peroxide/ teeth whitening capability. Is 3% a sufficient percentage to whiten teeth over time? Or do think it’s unnecessary to pay $10 per tube for such little gain?

              • @mrdunu: 3% is very little, you likely won't see much effects. In office we use up to 35-40% hydrogen peroxide. I would say at home applications at even around 8-10% would give you very modest whitening effects if you do consecutive sessions (those whitening gel/strips/etc). Just be careful that 1. the hydrogen peroxide don't touch your gums or other soft tissues (eg. lips, tongue, whatever), and 2. stop if you start experiencing too much sensitivity.

                • @Dr Fruit: Thank you so much for your advice! Will definitely be switching out to Sensodyne soon!

        • I've only used one tube but I just like the taste, I also like the taste of the Aesop one but it's probably not good for my teeth either. Should probably stick with the normal toothpaste brands haha

          • @cxz106: I actually have tried Marvis before and it tastes pretty exotic compared to the boring old bittery-mint taste of most toothpaste! Surely it wouldn’t hurt to use it sometimes, or maybe brush with Marvis in the morning and a fluoride containing toothpaste before bed ;) win-win

            • +1

@Dr Fruit: Will do that when the box arrives thank you :D
idk why but I find that some toothpaste brands like Sensodyne leave a really weird taste in my mouth

    • From a glance over, more than half are great quality.

  • +4

thanks Op, gets delivered in a week or so and should need getting out of the dog house by then if history is correct

  • Thanks

  • Ordered two. Keep some people happy :)

  • Has anyone figured out the difference between the two on offer?

I'm onsite using phone and can't copy into a spreadsheet to check. Thank you, if anyone can figure the difference and post.

    • +10

Differences (I will call the pink one S21 because that's what they have on the link as the name)

      • Marvis Toothpaste - S21 has Classic Strong Mint VS the Jasmine Mint
      • S21 has COACH Floral Blush Eau de Parfum VS JIMMY CHOO Fever Eau de Parfum
      • HUNTER LAB - S21 has Marine Healing Essence VS the Daily Face Fuel
      • S21 has a choice of LANO Face Base Leave-On Recovery Mask or Face Base Vitamin E Day Cream VS just the Face Base Vitamin E Day Cream
      • S21 has LOVING TAN Deluxe Gradual Tan – Dark VS Bronze Shimmer Luminous Cream - Dark
      • S21 has OPI Nail Lacquer - Bubble Bath VS Big Apple Red

That's as far as I can see between them.

      • +3

S21 means Summer 21 i.e. the season it launched

  • The $10 David Jones Voucher can only be redeemed on a purchase of $100 or more when spent on one of the participating brands included in the bag

    Ugh

  • Thanks OP, partner loves these sort of things :)

  • +1

Should tell you the weight of the samples.

  • Cheers, picked one up for the missus

  • Bought 3 - thanks!

  • This came in the mail, but three items are missing

    • +1

You can contact their support. It should be sorted. Mine is posted but not yet delivered. I will post if it is missing.

      • Support emailed me with a support ticket I didn’t lodge. After a phone call asking why the ticket, then an sms message, then an another email they claimed my address isn’t a valid AusPost address. I responded confirming it’s the same used address for the last X hundred/thousand successful OzBargain deliveries, and they apologised and said they would fix the issue. Then I received an email confirming my order has been cancelled and I will be refunded.
I don’t believe I’ve ever successfully received an order from DJ’s, but I do enjoy the occasional attempt. Maybe next time will be the one? 😂

      • I lodged two enquiries using their form. No response might call then next week. So annoying.

And also icky. I'm suspecting somebody opened it and took three items as I also found a strand of hair or fluff.

      • How did it go for you?

  • Did anyone get the full list of products for each set? I want to put them in a spreadsheet but looks like David Jones sold out so no longer on their site.

        You, are amazing! Thanks

Hey guys, I received my too bags, I got one of each variant. I highly recommend you go and open each product box to make sure there is no damage. The SuperGloss in one of the bags seems to have been mis-sealed in the manufacturing process & it was slightly broken with no contents even though the box was in perfect condition. Have emailed David Jones about it.

    • +1

      Good to know, cheers!

  • +1

Received mine today and immediately went to purchase more for Christmas but has sold out already .
Must puchase this again next year.
Think I snapped one up about 4 or 5 years ago and thought it was great then at about $20 but only had about half the products and was in a tote bag.

    • Got mine today and agree, wish I bought more. So worth it :) I got last year's one and that was good. This year's costed more but heaps more in it and good brands. Look forward to trying all the samples. They're great size for travelling as well.
