Same Product Buying from JB Hi-Fi or from Appliances Online?

Trying to buy a haier fridge hrf520fhs as it's currently on sale at the moment.
Appliances online is able to price match to $1195 but I'll get better price for using cashrewards at 3% off on $1216 (capped at $30)
Or I can buy JB hi-fi gift cards at 3% off at $1195. Both have free delivery.
My question is which company should I buy from in terms of after sale care?
Updates**
I finally bought the fridge from AO and got delivered today. Took about 6 days for get delivered. And the fridge has a 4-5 cm dent on the side. Feel pretty annoyed and contacted the customer service. They'll give me $100 damage allowance or have to wait til December to get it exchanged as the one I brought is not in stock until then.. overall not 100% happy experience for me.

JB Hi-Fi discounts are 5% by the way if you can access them through work rewards programmes.

Might want to check TGG commercial discounts too. There's a post on here on that.

Appliances Online are great for delivery and sales service but never dealt with them for after sales customer service.

It's $1195 at both The Good Guys and Good Guys Commercial. If that helps 😁

      • Ha you're fast

I'd pick Appliances online. I've only had very miserable experiences dealing with JB Hi-Fi over the years.

    • Thanks for sharing with your experience.

Appliances Online - I bought a fridge last year during the pandemic and it was here like the next day in SYD Metro….

The customer service & delivery is miles better than JB IMO

  • AO for service, JB if you can get cheap gift cards, and given recent deals I’m surprised if you can’t find any.

Have you checked the discounted gift card page to see if you already have access to another gift card portal that sells JB Hi-Fi gift cards at a higher discount, just in case you can access them at a 4% or 5% discount?

Anyway, I would personally choose Appliances Online, largely because there is no realistic difference in price between the two payment methods, plus there is a small chance you will request a refund in the future due to a major failure of the product or something like that.

    • If you buy through Appliances Online, you'd be using your preferred payment method, so any refund would go back to your preferred payment method, and it would be pretty much as good as cash. Also, if you use a credit card through Appliances Online, it would be protected under any insurance that may be associated with your credit card.

    • If you pay at JB Hi-Fi, you'll be given a refund in JB Hi-Fi gift cards. I don't know about you, but I certainly wouldn't have use for $1193 in gift cards unless I bought another fridge or other large-ticket items at JB Hi-Fi. I definitely prefer a cash refund than a gift card refund, because I don't want to be saddled with such a high value gift card for a retailer where I may not want to purchase from them again.

My experience with Appliances Online delivering home appliances is also pretty good when compared with JB Hi-Fi, so there is that too…

AO. JB are fine if you don't have any problems, but if you do they take ages and you might not get a satisfactory resolution.

AO if you want good customer service. Ordered a freezer during the recent lockdown, and it got delivered on Saturday, but suffered external damage somehow. Called them up and they replaced it with a new one on Monday.

I like JB Hi-Fi, but very impressed with AO

  • AO is fantastic customer service. They also own winning appliances. We bought a gaggenau oven there last year. The salesman was literally amazing and so patient. They also negotiate prices too.

    • winning owns AO :)

I would always to with AO for their customer service
The guy who delivered my stuff treated it like his own .. legit wiping it down n all…

JB on the other hand… it comes down to which individual u deal with.. the service can be average or garbage…

  • Prob AO.
But if its on sale, I bet the order was placed through the group buyers (NARTA) and all the buying group members are probably buying at the same cost.
So consider doing the right around if you have time…

  • +AO for me as well, bought a fridge during their mishap deal, they honoured it and the person delivered it, brought it up some stairs, plugged it in and everything

  • AO is the first place I go to if I need a new appliance. All my washing machines and dryers over past 10+ years were bought from them. The best part is the speed: majority of items were delivered in 2-3 days, if not next day. Free connection and removal of old appliance if you need it.

  • AO or E&S.. price has always been the best (can price match between the 2), delivery has been easy AND they remove old appliance and packaging

  • +2

Appliances online delivery service typically includes disposal of old item (if you want), and they unpack and take away the packaging.

I've experienced both JB and AO appliance delivery in the last 12 months and AO was a better experience.

  • I bought a washing machine twice from AO. One was last year and they delivered it next day, also price matched. Great service!

Thanks guys for all your inputs and time. I bought the fridge from AO. Absolutely great customer service.

    • The good guys has 10% off fridges

      • Yes AO matched that for me
