But I think this one would look good on you.

Hahaha, I'm going to click on the link now since you think it's going to look good on me.

    • It is definitely a beauty, looks a bit better on brown leather though

Why not get this one as well.. bigger discount, with open heart..

      • I got the SCVE051 which is a Japanese import. It’s also open heart but it suits bigger wrists better as it’s 42mm vs 38mm. It’s also cheaper at $316.

How to ruin a dial: punch a hole in it so you can see the unfinished movement…

    • I'd rather have one or two quality watch over 10 cheapies. Although these days you can get a lot of watch for even cheaper if you look into the Chinese homages and micro brands.

Most of these Seikos are still on the expensive side considering:
      - old/entry level movements
      - hardlex not sapphire crystal
      - cheap bracelets (hollow end links, rubbish clasps, hair nippers).
      - low water resistance (not that many dress watches would be worn in the pool).

The good thing about Seikos is the brand recognition and they do lovely faces and hands, just line like these Seiko 5s with Sunburst effect etc.

I ordered a 38mm Seiko cheapie will be a bit strange wearing such a small watch so not sure I'll keep it long term but most classics are small. 40mm would probably be better though.

Well they are not really cheapy as you think. The 10 watches I have are sold at Jewelry Stores between $400-850. I paid less than half of RRP from those brick and mortar stores.

        • yeah wasn't really a dig at the price per se, just wondering how many people actually need haha
I'm just limiting my collection to 5 or 6 and a Fitbit. Gives enough variety for different colours/bands and one dress watch
Mostly wear divers anyway but enjoying the Pagani Daytona.

You'd never pay RRP for a lot of these Seiko's is also the point, so some good deals pretty regularly on Starbuy

The one from last week looks better.

  • Where are people selling their used watches now? I’m trying to hock off my Seiko v195-0ae0 😂

    • Suppose gumtree and fb marketplace, would get lowballed on both :P
Don't know if there's a watch specific platform, probably better.
The watch i ordered from Skywatches is taking forever, sitting in Syd for a week.

    • Lots of second hand sales on Chrono24, but I haven't used it myself.
