  • They are the cheapest for the "4G" versions.

  • Paid $496 for my Black 16GB WiFi from the GG

    • did u get the New Ipad?? They did a price beat?

      • Yes, the new ipad. Looks like they did price beat to the tune of $2, which is better than nothing, but I only asked for a price match.

  • +1

For the 32GB Wifi+4G, its the cheapest so far

  • +7

It is Cheapest for those who are looking for New iPad 3 16 GB Wifi + 3G/4G, New iPad 3 32 GB Wifi Only, New iPad 3 32 GB Wifi + 3G/4G So I think no need to send Negative.

  • +7

    New iPad 3 16 GB Wifi + 3G/4G $16 cheaper
New iPad 3 32 GB Wifi Only $4 cheaper
    New iPad 3 32 GB Wifi + 3G/4G $20 cheaper
I think OP should highlight cheaper models and it would make it a deal.

    • +1

Agree, highlight which ones are cheaper than other outlets. Considering, definitely not worth a neg. Those that negged obviously didn't read the prices beyond the first one.

  • +1

Does anyone know Harvey Norman price?

  • -2

the 4g component is useless in australia which defeats the purpose of selling or buying the 4g capable ones

    • +1

It is just labeled 4G, but also works with 3G which we do use here in AU

      • Apparently uses "dual channel hspa" which makes it 3.5G or faster than 3G and faster than previous iPad on Telstra network.

        • -8

          3g is not 4g

        • 3.5G is faster than 3G

        • 4G is used in the US for what is 3.5G here. Unless it is '4G LTE' then that is the 4G used here.

        • It has 700Mhz LTE, which hasn't yet been rolled out in Oz (thank you Hon. Stephen Conroy)
Until the Govt pulls their finger out, Telstra & Optus are leveraging off their old GSM frequencies. In theory it will be LTE compatible when the 700Mhz band gets rolled out.

As for the 3.5G it must be faster nonsense, you call dual frequency hop all you like, but whilst the current bandwidth is saturated, it won't make a difference…..it's driving a Ferrari on a congested road, you'll still crawl along at 20km/h just like the Datsun 180b beside you. But you'll look cool

    • +1

but it still has 3G in there as well and it is faster than iPad2 3G, so you can use it in Oz, just can't use LTE component in it. Same is with the phones, mine got 4 different standards (bands) in it I can use only 2 out of 4 and an option to use other bands if I travel to another country. Another comparison is if you buy a car with 8 airbags and you only drive alone, what's the point of paying for extra airbags??
Also Voda and Optus will move soon to LTE so in year or so you might be able to use 4G (LTE) component on your iPad. Sorry for too many letters.

thats like saying il sell you an apple but if it tastes like a lemon it doesnt matter because its green

        • Apple of course make the ipad. The metaphors have come full circle, like the wheel of life.

        • +1

But apple fans will still swear it tastes sweet.

      • Optus LTE on 1800MHz won't support this "4G" device.

LTE on 700MHz in Australia won't happen until earliest 2014 when the spectrum is up for allocation.

    • It's not a "4G component", it's the same component that does the 3G bands as well.

I got my iPad 4G 64GB Black from Big W @ midnight launch for $858.

So your deal wasn't that good.

  • -5

looks like everyones getting ripped off on these so called apple deals

    • +2

      make your point clearly, genius.

      • -6

$250 more expensive than what the real cost of the product should be

  • -6

    no good

  • Haha my bad. Didn't realise it was the 4G version…

  • DOes GoodGuys do price match for the 16GB Wifi New ipad? Went into JB, and the sales told me they have the LOWEST price across australia for the Newest Ipad….I am like WTF, Target 499 and BigW 498. JB probably the highest priced store. What an a…e
He wouldnt negotiate any lower than tha tagged price…so I walked out.

    • +1

Yes look at my response above. I paid $496 at the Good Guys

    • Harvey Norman @ Domayne in Silverwater has stock for 16GB Wifi Black and 32Gb Wifi (at 1:30 16/3)
But they are not doing any price match. meaning selling at standard Apple price only.

Does that happens to all Harvey? If yes then we have GG, Target, BigW selling and 10% cheaper than Apple price and possibly run out of stock and have Harvey and JB have stock but not willing to match price….

    • jbhifi have lost their 'bargains' these days. i don't shop with them anymore. their staff are particularly rude (not noting the inner west stores) where the young farts just don't give a crap about you when it comes to bargaining.

  • btw why don't they call it the ipad3? instead of just new ipad…

    • -1

i recon!! stupid term. Some noob staff might even reply saying "sorry, we dont sell Second hands Ipads"…

    • The official name is "The new iPad"
Creatively named by a group of chimps. They like "The new" better than "3" apparently
      y

    • because it's just the iPad 2S, no more.

    • +1

imagine after 15 years, and they call the ipad, ipad15. It just doesn't sound right. Calling it the iPad makes sense then.

      • +1

+1 like what they did with ipods.

      • what r they gonna name the next one? The NEWER Ipad?
The Awesome Ipad? Does apple they take suggestions?

  • Is this in store only? Online price for 32gb 4G Wifi is showing $789

    • seems like online price are different with instore price.
I just grabbed one from their store.

  • Yes, just grabbed one.
    Thanks OP :)

  • Thanks for the post, op. Just picked up the 32gb Wifi for $620 @ Goodguys Prospect.
