        More likely that the next generation will use SD express: a backwards compatible standard or have no expandable storage at all.

    they graded sd cards by speed but for normal users, it doesn't really matter. you can just wait for few more seconds (depends on file size) when transferring data to your pc and just wait few mili-seconds when finishing recording on camera. When 8K recording became mainstream, faster SD cards will matter but when that time comes, sd cards would not be exist.
