Save your money, buy one good knife, not this utter garbage

Any recommendations? Deciding on a good knife feels like getting a PhD sometimes as there are too many brands and factors involved.

Globals are decent. And the Global wheel sharpener is also apparently a good match. Just don't buy a huge set, just get a 20cm chef's knife and a smaller utility knife and you'll be set.

      • Victorinox, cheapest knife in commercial kitchen, or one step up a Tojiro, a bit more expensive though. Getting which knife is depends on how often you cook at home, if you are just a home cook. Also depends on your budget, but generally if you are a beginner to intermediate home cook, between a Victorinox or a Tojiro DP, is a good start.

A Global Ikasu set also okay, especially if you can get it around $250.

  • I like global knives, occasionally on sale at Peter of Kensington.

  • It turns $150 now
