Label Printer for Electronic Devices

I am looking for a label printer so that I can label all electronic devices (router, switches, computers, etc.) around the office.

Any advice on what to look for? Thanks.

  • You can't beat a Dymo LW450 Label Printer, often on special at Big W. $99.85

    or

    Dymo LW450 Label Printer $79.99 + $1.00 postage

  • Label printers, like most printers, suffer from the "cheap hardware expensive consumables" problem. I have a Brother labeller, and have purchased lower cost label cartridges from eBay sellers without any issues.

  • Brother QL 700

  • You might be interested in the Brother PT-E300VP. Not one of the cheaper options but it has built in functions for doing patch panels, face plates, cables etc as well as just simple labels.

  • Thanks to everyone who replied. I think I will just go for a cheap handheld label printer.

How about the labels? What to look for in a label that will last for at least a few years?

    • I've used the Brother TZe tapes for decades. They'll last forever on wall plates, patch panels and devices that aren't handled much. For things that are handled a lot it really comes down to the individual but for most will still last years. Of course they only work with the Brother printers.
