I believe most new ink printers (all mfrs) are loaded with less than full cartridges (maybe 50%) - obviously this is where they make their money - I have HP Photosmart and it is very reliable / good printer but exy for ink - I now have in addition a cheap Samsung B&W laser ($60) for general printing and use the HP for colour. Still this is a good buy for a HP Photosmart.
