urgh, i hate it when companies advertise a "case" but it ends up being less than 24.

    • 24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not!

    • We hear ya notYuna. Sadly it's the way the breweries pack them and send them to us. We often have 24 packs and always promote the size in the heading for easy reference.

      Cheer

  • Wasn't free shipping like 75 bucks previously.

    • Hey Fergy1987. Free shipping for members at $75. Free shipping for everyone at $150.

make it a case of 24 and you'll have a customer.

    • We hear ya boozler. Sadly it's the way the breweries pack them and send them to us. We often have 24 packs and always promote the size in the heading for easy reference.

A case or a slab is is 24 beers Can't be having anyone advertise a slab or case with any less that that. Unastrayan

ITT: Boomers and/or bogans with a fragile world view who can't handle when things are different

    • Boogans? Very appropriate for this time of year… 👻👻

    • +1

Exactly. Drink bogan beer if 24 cans/case is so important. Plenty of stock of Great Northern and Carlton going around to keep you happy.

      • +1

They've reduced the volume by a third and then try to pass it off as a case… honestly don't see the issue in questioning that lol.

    • To be fair it should be a cube if it’s 16

  • +2

next, it'll be a case for a dozen lol

    • +2

And you'll still have posters on here defending it with insightful comments such as:

      "can't you handle change?"
      "you're old"
      "you're a bogan"

  • +1

It's a unit of measure that's being distilled by false marketing. Slab/Case = 24 beers of whatever variety is inside.

    • +1

Where has it ever been officially said a slab/case is 24?

      • Best I can give in 10 second research is wikipedia:

A carton of nine litres of beer in stubbies (i.e. 24 bottles) or cans became known as a "slab" because compared to the more cube-like shape of the traditional cartons, they were flatter, and hence, like slabs.

Not really definitive though, is it? Like a dozen for example. And that doesn't say anything about a case, just a slab.

Really don't know why people get their knickers in a knot. As long as the number of beers is disclosed, which of course it always is, then who cares.

          • +1

@shbshb: I think it's a mental line in the sand against abundant false marketing.
Call a spade a digging tool, but dont mess with beer.

            How about Macquarie Dictionary?
            Slab
24 pack of stubbies or cans of beer: He bought a slab for the bbq

@Sapiens: Think we'll have to agree to disagree @Sapiens.

I get your logic for a slab, but there's nothing to say how much should be in a case.

              All good.

  • +2

I've always heard a carton is 24 and a slab/block/case is 30. Some may call this a baker's dozen with 4 bakers or one and a third dozens

    • pretty sure that a slab is 24.

      Now we're talking. Real metrics

Dont know if it was Craft Cartel themselves or scammers impersonating them but the amount of spam calls I got after ordering from them was absurd (was unsubcribed from email too). Never again.

    • Hi Baron-K we can assure you that if you had unsubscribed to our email list, you would receive no further correspondence from us.

If you would like to confirm that you have been removed please email [email protected]

      Cheers

    • I've never got a call from them, sounds odd dude

"CASES FROM $42 - SAVE UP TO 35%"

….because we've saved you from drinking 33% of the beer in the case by reducing the number of cans from 24 to 16…..

    • +1

We hear ya clandestino Sadly it's the way the breweries pack them and send them to us. We often have 24 packs and always promote the size in the heading for easy reference.

  • 16 won't even get me to 11pm

  • +2

16 beers is not a case, or a carton, or a slab.

  • Liquor land has the South Coast Pale Ale for $45 C&C

    https://www.liquorland.com.au/beer/pirate-life-south-coast-p…

    Not really a deal at $44 + $9.95 delivery

  • I'd jump all over them if you get free shipping cycloneaussie. I'm sure if you take a look at all the RRP's you'll see that we're best in market for them all, some more than others.

    Cheers
