    Control is an impressive addition!

    • +29

Dragon Age, Control & Tomb Raider. Impressive is the word!

      • +3

I wonder what's changed? Amazon have been dishing out free games for a while now but they've mostly been small indie titles (which is fine). Now the last two months, they're pulling an Epic Store and dishing out some decent goods.

        • +6

Gaming has a lot of money, but one sure way to get more subs is to give away free games. I am pretty sure a lot of people stopped hating EPIC once they started giving free games.

        • +1

New World online MMO was funded by Amazon, Amazon want to get into the PC gaming space as it's a shitetonne of dollars.

    • +13

      No it's Ultimate Edition

      • Nice

    • Control is pretty fun, but it gives me the creeps sometimes!

  • +21

The first 3 games alone are more than worth getting a month of Prime for those without. Then there's the added bonus of the movies, music, books and free Amazon shipping.

  • +1

Sweet, with Control being free I can uninstall the epic launcher.

    • +11

But it might be redeemed on Epic

      • +4

        Control is redeemed via GOG.com

    • +4

you can use command line for Epic game, so dont need to open launcher to play the game (only the first time to get the command line password)

      • Interesting… Shall investigate

    • +4

I've recently started using gog galaxy, which allows you to add and launch games from a bunch of platforms (epic, steam, etc) as well as from gog itself. No more epic launcher…

      • playnite does this too , can recommend.

        • Any of these can stream game from PC to HTPC on TV?

I know Steam can do but last time I tried didn't run very good for non Steam games and controller.

          • @superforever: playnite will work with geforce experience/moonlight etc. i have it working though an nvidia shield.

      • I like GG2, but I find it to be wildly unstable, and I spent more time troubleshooting it than actually using it.

    • Can't you just load non steam games through stream? I've done this for a few.

  • +11

PSPlus hang your head in shame.

    • +4

Some PS+ months have saints, some have sinners, but this month has both! 🙃

    • +9

Humble Monthly Bundle hang your head in shame

      • +6

I call it the Humble Monthly Pause.

    • +10

Control Ultimate Edition and Rise of the Tomb Raider have been free on PSPlus previously.

      • And also Game Pass…

I'm guessing Amazon can get these keys easily since the games have already been marketed on subscription services elsewhere. Same with Humble Choice, I've seen several games show up there after going onto Game Pass

  • +3

Any idea if any of these are Steam?

    • +1

      It is highly unlikely.

They've had some games that require Origin in the past, and I'd guess DA:I will be on that, but I don't recall any on Stream.

      • +1

DAI is origin according to another site I read this news on

        • Yeah, because it's an EA game.

The AAA games are redeemed on the publisher launchers. EA games on Origin, Ubisoft on Uplay etc with the rest of the games via Amazon games itself.

Amazon have never had games of this level until more recent months let alone non Ubi/EA AAA's. This is all kind of new so they might very well do Steam or Epic or even start using their own launcher for these bigger games.

          • @Freezies: DA:I on Origin

            Control on Gog

            Tomb Raider on Epic

            Which is a mix.

            • @Xenocaust: This "Control Ultimate" is not the same version from the previous free one from Epic, right?

Can I give it to friend? Is it just a code to redeem? Previous Battlefield games just a code to redeem but this need to link account.

              • @superforever: I think it is a different version.

Both DA:I and Control Ultimate are codes, for Origin and Gog respectively.

Only Rise of the Tomb Raider needs a linked account.

    • -1

again, highly unlikely.. Amazon DO NOT WANT customers going to another digital store where they can play / purchase games.

      • Funny, the two star wars games in October were linked to origin (EA)

        • So were all the Battlefield games from the past three months.

  • +14

Wait.. I have free games with prime? 🤣

    • +2

Oh dang you been missing out. They also do free add ons for games which some can be used on other platforms. There is also prime music, and video and I think ebooks. Pretty good value really.

      • Is prime music as good as Spotify?

        • +2

          Nowhere near

        • +1

The music selection you get with Prime is cut down. They do an "Ultimate" Prime music, but not sure how that compares with Spotify.

        • Yeah doesn't compare, depends on your music taste I guess though. If you listen to mainstream you probably would be fine with just prime.

  • +3

If only I can buy a good GPU at RRP to actually play these games

    • Tomb Raider and Dragon Age are on GeForce Now, so you should be able to play them there. Control is only available via Steam atm not GOG on GFN.

  • +1

well that's pretty darn good. Used to Amazon monthly games being exclusively shovelware. Now it's got huge games. Haven't got any of these on PC. Wonder where they'll be redeemed.

    • Depends on the games. Prime has a launcher but most the AAA seem to be codes for other launchers usually Ubisoft or Origin it seems

    • +6

Excclusively shovelware is probably an unfair assessment.

They've had some decent games in the past, it seems to run about 20% are worth downloading

Looking through my library, I've had

      • Battlefield V
      • Star Wars: Squadrons
      • Darksiders
      • Darksiders II
      • Devil May Cry HD Collection
      • Enter the Gungeon
      • Hotline Miami
      • Overcooked
      • Oxenfree
      • Pillars of Eternity
      • Psychonauts
      • Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun
      • Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter
      • Civ 4 - Complete Edition
      • Stealth Bastard
      • SteamWorld Dig
      • SteamWorld Dig 2
      • SteamWorld Heist
      • Superhot
      • Tales from the Borderlands
      • Banner Saga
      • Banner Saga 2
      • The Escapists
      • Tyranny
      • Void Bastards
      • Yooka-Laylee
        Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair
(and over 200 games that I didn't list)

Obviously some older games there, and may not be to everyone's taste, but as an add on to a service you've presumably got for other reasons it's nice to have

      • I didn't claim any of them unless they've been on a launcher such as Origin, Steam, Uplay. I'm not adding any more launchers.

        • The GOG launcher apparently integrates Steam, Epic & Uplay, so if you do that & add the Amazon launcher you'll have one less launcher than you do now ;)

      • Damn, I missed out on Darksiders and DMC HD Collection. I'm guessing they must've been included more than a year or so back? I've only started checking Amazon Games regularly in the last 12 months and other times I would forget entirely

  • +11

This is better than Humble Choice has been for the past 2 years

    • +6

Yeah humble seems to have really gone down hill

    • The bundles used to be good over a year ago, it's just meh now.

  • +2

Just realised I've already got Control on Epic. Not so excited as before. Epic has spoiled everyone

    • +10

The Control that was free on Epic does not include the DLC in this Ultimate Edition, so you should still get this.

  • Prime Gaming is only for those playing on PC, right?

    • +7

Yeah, but you should redeem your keys anyway should you decide to add PC gaming to your lifestyle

      • +3

I've got enough hoarding disorders already… Don't encourage me. Thanks OZHoarding.

        • +1

Hoard mate, I recently got into PC gaming and regret not taking the time to scoop up all the free games I saw on here in the past

  • +1

    I'm keen for the first 3 — DAI/Control/ROTR

  • +1

    Are they steam games?

  • +2

Fantastic I had no idea I could claim games as well from prime

  • wow nice

  • -5

Looks like Farcry 6 also included

    • No way

    • +1

It should be fair cry mate.

  • Ultimate edition free upgrade!. Received Control free from EPG a while back. I started playing last week after finishing Alan Wake Remastered. Very impressed was looking at buying the DLCs. No need now!

  • +2

    Wow dragon age inquisitions free!

  • I’ve been stuck inside too much lately and was looking forward to getting out….. guess it can wait while I play games

  • free to keep mean it will be added to my account permanently?

    • +1

      Key to redeem

      • Seem like needs to link with game account.

  • +3

PM me if you'd like my Control code. I already own it on GOG.

    • sent pm :)

    • +1

      Claimed.

      • Thanks a lot :) downloading now :)

  • +2

fair warning it is for EPIC not steam.

    • +1

      Dragon Age: Inquisition on Origin
Control Ultimate Edition: Full Game for PC on GOG.com
Rise of the Tomb Raider - Full Game + Bonus Content on Epic Games Store
others may be prime gaming itself ?

  • +1

Wtf I only check prime gaming for LoL stuff didn't know they do this now too! The value you actually get for Prime is nuts wtf.

  • DRM free Control on gog is amazing deal.

  • I hate using GOG so if anyone wants my Control on GOG - heres the code

    57PMD177D9F0F9EE13

Advise when it has been used.

    • Thanks mate. Code redeemed.

    • +4

Why would anyone in their right mind hate using GOG?

      • +2

Just so many launchers - Plus I'd already started my game collections with the other ones. Adding another just was too much for me

…………..Also I dont really understand how it works, and what it does lol. But mainly the reason above.

EDIT: I just read what GOG actually does and now I'm slightly annoyed I dont have it haha. Oh well.

        • Yes, it shows your whole library from other launchers. I get it though, I drew the line at Bethesda and Indiegala and decided not to bother.

        • Haha. Yeah I just love how it attempts to combine other libraries together.

          • @Tinqer: attempts being the keyword? Doesnt do it well?

            • @Fergy1987: There can be delays, and sometimes it stops working and you need to do it again. Also, if you sub to a games service, and add those games to your account, it counts them as part of your library, even if you unsub.

            • @Fergy1987: It does it the best I've seen but it's far from perfect. Trying to accurately organise all the complicated game library data from Steam, Epic, Xbox, Ubisoft, Blizzard, etc etc is clearly a big challenge. For example I hope one day the APIs can all be linked together and things can be unified in the cloud. But for now a lot of it just seems to happen in the (sometimes clunky) GOG Galaxy Windows program.

        • Last I checked, with GOG games you don't even need the launcher. You could just download the game directly from their website and install.

Regardless, you definitely don't need the launcher to play it

          • @Butt Scratcher: yup that's how I use gog

no launcher, I just download offline installers and keep them in my archive

            install as needed

no launcher necessary. however it's good to check the game library online once in a while to download any game updates

  • Dragon age code for Origin if anyone wants it: H677-2APX-SFTE-4FTJ-CLRD

    • +1

      Thanks. :)

  • I would love a Dragon Age code if anyone has spare to PM?

    • You still need it?

      • Yes please!

        • I'll pm you. Sent.

  • If anyone has a spare code for Rise of Tomb Raider and can send it via PM. Thanks in advance to the generous community.

    • It's not a code. You have to link it to your Epic account. You might find someone willing to do that for you if you give them the password, but probably not worth it?
