Brightest cheap big TV

Hi all

I have a lounge room that gets lots of sun, lots. So oled isn’t what i need as I’m asleep or working when its dark.

What’s the Best Buy ? 65-85 4K only.

No gaming already have a 2021 Apple TV .
Might one day get a shield or convert my pi4 8gb into a NAS but you can tell I’m not fancy other than caring lots about reflection and peak brightness

    65 to 85 is a big range. Wouldn't call 65 big.
    75 x950h if you can find or 85 x900h

    • TBH i don’t care too much about size other than it being an bonus. Budget is sub 3k

  • Sounds like you need some blinds/curtains instead.

    What's "cheap" budget to you?

    • Under 3k
Blinds are not an option. Live in a coastal area of Noosa and I pay too much for those views. More than any TV. Also curtains require cleaning and I’m hard pressed on doing salt-caked louvers and windows ;-)

        Sony 75" X90H (not J) then: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x950h

        Pros: Outstanding reflection handling.

        • is nits the unit I should be looking at too
          ?
Pretty sure you nailed it in that reflection handling is where I should be targeting efforts.

Definitely find the sony appealing as it doesn’t bombard you with ads like a Samsung and has a native android UI/UX

  • Looks like it’s down to the https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/sony-65-inches-x9500h-4k-uhd-… vs the https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/hisense-85-inches-a7g-4k-uhd-…

Difference being mostly the size and peak brightness as costs are similar

    Any advice here ?

    • any advice on the difference between the Sony and the Hisense ?
Again, size is a bonus but not the dealbreaker.

Just get a automatic black out blind or similar if you are that lazy. Any tv will look crap in direct sunlight

    • Crap is subjective, I’m certainly not part of the crowd who appreciate hdmi 2.1 yet. And I’m totally okay without 120hz or OLED which both look magic in the right circumstances but not the one I’m solving for.

It’s not direct sunlight, just a bright space. As I’ve mentioned, blinds and other aesthetic imperfections are more (perceived) costly than any TV itself.
