Almost everyone says it's tonnes better than FF13 though, so if you thought that was okay, get this.
Yeah to me FF XIII was… Bashing X and Holding up 90% of the game. Story was weak, combat system lacked control. Kingdom hearts is the only decent thing Square Enix makes nowadays.
It's not that bad but it has a reputation to be hated on by people that haven't played it aka krisspy. I've finished both XIII and XIII-2 and they're some of the most refined and addictive battle systems in the series. Also XIII-2 improved on most everything XIII did wrong.
I've finished 13 and played 13-2 for 2 hours. Grabbed as much trophies as i can and returned the game to a friend immediately.
Combat system has got to be the worst in the franchise. Building up multiplier then switching to an all offense stance…then back to a defensive - multiplier building stance. Id rather draw magic for hours than go through the boss fights in that. Extremely repetitive an unnecessarily long, i thought they were giving world of warcraft a run for their money in terms of boss fight durations.
I still think XIII-2 should've gotten around mid 80s review average instead of the 79 it currently has.
