  • I'm curious if this works better than using Xbox controller and a clip.

The main limiting factor on this seems to be the size, my redmi 9 seems to be slightly too thick for this.

    • +2

I haven't used this, but I feel that end of the day controller + clip will usually feel better.

I've read reviews that state that while this is comfortable, you can't really beat the comfort of a normal xbox controller.

I usually use an SN30 Pro+ with a clip and it's fine. Doesn't really feel top heavy but YMMV.

Also in terms of sizing for your Redmi, you can take out the rubber inserts in this to fit slightly larger phones :)

    • +2

A clip will fit every phone, a Kishi is hit and miss.

Forget about it if you use a phone case.

    • +2

I can fit a Note 20 Ultra into one, just got to take it out of the case first.

    • what are the clip thing that you guys talking about ?
i have 8bitdo wireless, and galaxy note 10+

      • I think 8bitdo is an example. Or PowerA MOGA

      • 8bitdo sell a controller clip for the series x controller. Holds your phone. It's 20 bucks at jb hifi

    • +5

Having tried both, Kishi has less input lag.
The clip feels top heavy after some use which can be uncomfortable too.

The top heavy aspects something I certainly noticed connecting an iPhone 12 Max to an Xbox controller. While I haven’t used the Kishi, I’d assume it’d feel closer to a Nintendo Switch which is better balanced due to the mass being directly between the hand grips as opposed to out front like the clip.

Clips good in a pinch. If I wanted to game on my phone a lot I’d probably look at the Kishi or similar for the comfort aspect.

    • Get this if you want to have a controller to carry with you at all times. Even a 20 bucks controller by hori or powerA is better than this piece of disappointment.

    • doubt it. dpad on this is pretty bad, even compared to an xbox controller

  • i would pick a controller and clip anyday over this.

    • The fact that a clip is only $20, no brainer.

      • +1

If you are playing outside though, using a telescopic controller looks like you are playing a Nintendo switch. Maybe it will be less weird compared to using a PS controller outside. Who knows though

        • +2

When I play games, I care if the controller is comfortable to use, not how others looks at me. My eyes will focus on the screen anyway.

          • @ce5himm: agreed, im using a bitdo+ with a clip. The gamesir x2 looks good though.

    • +2

what are the clip thing that you guys talking about ?
i have 8bitdo wireless, and galaxy note 10+

I did, and it's no where near as good. The weight is top heavy, not as well distributed so you get fatigued faster. Also sometimes games use the gyro, and it feels super flimsy moving the controller around with the phone barely clipped in by cheap plastic. Also a controller can cost more than this, so it's only cheap if you already have a controller. Also you have to keep the controller charged separately to the phone. Overall these style of adapters are far more ergonomic and convenient that plastic clip and controller, and in this case cheaper compared to buying a controller and clip.

  • Assuming Kishi for iphone, how does the clicks compare to Barebone One?

I have barebone but want to get one for my spare android too.

    • backbone was supposed to have better build quality.

      • yeh. I like backbone and wish they do one for android one day

  • Any idea how long shipments are taking from Amazon US to Australia ?
I ordered something last month saying expected 12th Nov but now I got a message saying 2nd Dec expected delivery

  • Any idea if it will fit a Google Pixel 5 with the offical case?

    • It fits my P5 with a Spigen rugged armor after I removed the rubber inserts.

  • I am guessing this won't fit on a Galaxy Fold 2? Any idea what would could work instead?

    • Gamesir x2

  • Anyone care to recommend any mobile games that are actually … good ?

    • +1

I won't speak for others but if i was to get something like this i would be using it for Xbox Cloud streaming and emulators.

If you want a serious answer heres a quick list

      Stardew Valley
      GTA series
      Minecraft
      Terraria
      Dead Cells

If you are a Apple phone user i would recommend Apple Arcade which is basically similar to Gamepass and there are heaps of good controller friendly games on there.

      • Apple Arcade

I bought in on a family share plan for apple 1 premiere mainly for cloud storage increase and apple music - and i still feel ripped off about arcade.
Theres not a whole lot going on there except an excellent marketing campaign..

        • This isn't controller stuff now but i think its got at least 10 good stuff

          • Monster Hunter Stories
          • Rayman Mini
          • Beyond a Steel Sky
          • Shantae and the Seven Sirens
          • Oceanhorn 2
          • Exit the Gungeon
          • Fantasian
          • Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time
          • Taiko no Tatsujin Pop Tap Beat
          • Layton's Mystery Journey

There is like 200 games on it and i think it has something for everyone. The majority of the games i would not bother with but i think the 1 month trail is good enough to knock out a few of the top games on the service.

I will be giving Fantasian a shot as it looks like a good Final fantasy game.

…dude have you checked out Xbox Game Pass Ultimate cloud gaming?

    • +4

Genshin impact - controller support is ios only
Diablo immortal - yes you have phones
      Emulators
Brawl stars - pretty good pvp game

      • +1

Wait, Genshin has controller support on iOS?

Why not android yet 😭 That sucks.

      • Therefore they should give us a deal iOS on Kishi

    • +1

      Emulators

    • My Top 3 non ported games: Cytus (rhythm), battle of Polytopia (strategy pve/pvp), juicy realm (rogue like top down bullet hell).

Here are all the ports, both official and unofficial.

Here are a thread recently that requested for premium games.
      https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidGaming/comments/q55v79/full_…

I'm an avid supporter of the Android platform, no matter how shitty google treats it. Happy to answer questions.

      • Great, thanks for this !

    • My eyes aren't what they used to be, so a lot of GPU Cloud games are too small on my iphone, but I've found limbo to translate well to the smaller screen. I use the 8bitdo pro controller with a clip.

    • Not mobile games but if you have gamepass ultimate you can stream games to it. ive been playing skate3 on mine

  • For a sec I thought this is steam deck when I saw the thumbnail, now I'm a bit sad :/

  • Can anyone recommend a clip that is suitable for a switch pro controller and large android phone?

Doing some searching and seeing so many but not sure which one would suit best.

  • I think Genshin Impact doesn't work on this

  • Yes I will finally buy one. Keen to use for emulators.
