20% off (Maximum $1000 Discount) @ Sparesbox on eBay

500
SPBOX20

20% off but unlike other sales, this one caps out at $1000 instead of $300, perfect for that wuhan whistle (#AEROFAILBOOSTED) you've been eyeing for high yiled investment falcon on gas or toyota rav4 hybrid….

Yeah these guys have their issues with shipping times, there customer service is average…

My personal experience has been ok, they gave me a 15% refund on a heavily discounted item because the shipping ETA blowed out to 1.5months plus… But this covid messing production and supply up…

Can use up-to 5 times, with up to 10 items in each transaction.

  • Too bad no free shipping

  • Meguiars ultimate all wheel cleaner worth paying the big bucks for?

I prefer Wheely Clean. Don't sniff it though, it's potent stuff

I like this tidbit in the description:

No longer smells like arse, as well as allowing your nose hairs to grow back as well!

        • It's a lie….you can't disguise the smell of arse!

          • @whitelie: Given how great the rest of their line smells, Wheely Clean was a real shock first time using it LOL.

      • After using Meguiars for decades I've swapped almost entirely to Bowdens Own. The Bowdens products are as good and usually better plus Aussie owned and made. Still use some of the Meguiars trade products for some specialty uses but that's because Bowdens don't have a version or I'd probably use those as well.

      • I couldn't agree more. I couldn't breathe properly after spraying this stuff.

      • Awesome, impulse bought. Thanks. Been wanting to give my car a deep exterior clean for a while now and didnt have a wheel specific agenda…until now.

      • +1

Apparently this stuff better than Bowden's and you can mix concentrate to your liking. Good to go halvies with someone.

5 litres comes to around $80 posted.

    • I use Meguiars Ultimate Wheel Cleaner and as an alternative there is also Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel Cleaner when in stock at the more boutique detail shops.

Recommend also using a dedicated Tyre cleaner brush for agitation after spraying to get the most out of the product.

The smell is strong if working in enclosed areas such as basement garage.

It would be nice if this came in a larger 1L bottle like the Bilt Hamber, hence only recommend purchasing Meguirs tyre cleaner when on sale.

    • It works reasonably well, but wait until it's on a better special. I picked it up the other day for $20 each.

Some things work out cheap on sparesbox - ie got a cabin filter cheap, but always check with other stores.

Most of their prices are 20% higher than everyone else's. So not really a bargain at all.

Eg. EVC Throttle Controller $246.95. Every other shop $190-$200.

  • These guys use couriers please for deliveries to Perth, meaning that most stuff will take at least 2 months to get here, if it makes it at all.

Granted they do occasionally have decent pricing on DBA rotors and Bendix pads which I commonly use.

    • Service items come thru Auspost, it's when it's an item that they don't keep in stock that it will take a long time to source. The run of the mill stuff comes locally as they are part owned by the same parent company as Repco now so they use all the same warehousing.

Just checked my last couple of orders for filters, one lot was sent 20th Sept, arrived 24th. One before that was 11th Aug, arrived 14th (which was a Saturday). They generally come from Welshpool, not interstate.

I guess it’s highly dependent on what you buy. I ordered rear rotors and pads for a 100 series Landcruiser and it took exactly 7 weeks to get to Perth via couriers please (delivered last week).

Same deal for drums and shoes for a WS fiesta at around 5 weeks. Also couriers please from Melbourne.

Actually that’s probably more a reflection on couriers please trying their hardest to win shittiest courier award, in close running with aramex.

        • 7 weeks? Did they walk to Perth carrying the items on a Coles trolley?

        • Is this 7 weeks from order or from pickup date?

          • @lomie: 7 weeks from order and 5 weeks from pickup. Couriers Please must be dirt cheap for them to allow them to trash their reputation.

      • I thought they had no stock and were purely drop ship from various sources.

  • buying from ebay would be safer than through their website. I do wonder if they sorted their privacy / security issues though.

I've had some pretty disappointing experiences from them but hope they can improve.

Another thing is this, when they have their sale on, items that they didn't want to discount suddenly have no stock. When the sale finishes, miraculously, stock reappears pretty much straight away. I find runautoparts much more reasonable with their pricing, however, their stocked parts are not as extensive.

Will wait for the black Friday deal from supercheap auto or Repco, last year price was around $13 for Bowden's Own Wheely Clean

    • If you're just after Bowden's stuff, 20% off isn't great. Regularly goes 30% off and 40% a few times a year.

  • Got a set of DBA rear brake rotor from them (eBay store) before, experience was good.
20% off is not the cheapest if no discount on tag price. My suggestion is waiting for their tag price 10% or 15% off and then possible to stack with some eBay general 10%~15% code, which will be > 20% off overall.

Sparesbox pretty much sells items they don’t have constantly. They make you order thinking you’re getting it soon and tell you later about the “delay”. Will leave it to you to decide if you want to keep the order or not. I assume they get plenty of people who can’t be a$$ed and just wait. Which is their business model.

Only issue I have had with sparesbox is when they used Fastway. When I raised issue with them they said make a note on future orders. The three orders since have been Aus Post which is the best service in our area. I simply note "Fastway/Aramex do not deliver to our house" and so far so good
    .

    • Fastway/Aramex do not deliver very slowly

  • Some weird pricing.
The pack of front wiper blades for my car is $84.95/$67.96 before/after discount.
    Individually they're $29.95/$23.96 and $26.95/$21.56.

    • +1

I noticed the same thing! Much cheaper to buy them individually for my car as well. The blades I needed got price jacked by $5/pair to account for the 20% off. Despite that, they still were cheaper than I could find elsewhere. I sent 3 different emails over the past week and received a reply within 24hrs for each query. I ordered 3 items and 2/3 were sent within 48 hrs. I am not in a hurry for anything, but so far am happy with the service.

  • Thank OP
Ordered a new uhf at a sweet price

  • Meguiar's DFC6 is on special at Sparesbox ebay store for $23.96 shipped
