Interesting, I think this is actually an Australian brand, nothing to do with the old lady family, its official website says only available at Coles.

Don't waste your money on this. I bought one box on Wed thinking that at 250g/100 bags (the strong version) compared to 220-240 for Dilmah/Lipton/Twinning, it should be good. Turns out to be big disappointment - bland taste and smell almost like it's recycled tea. Maybe it is, as it doesn't actually say where the tea leaves are from.

    • Thanks for the review. What is recycled tea?

      • +4

Probably from the same factory as recycled toilet paper

        • is it good for combatting coffee-induced diarrhoea?

      • Maybe I should say "reuse" rather than "recycle". What I meant is if you try to make a second cup of tea from a used tea bag.

    • +2

Yes, we bought the peppermint tea version and it’s crap. Bags break, tastes off.

    • +4

Yep the peppermint isn't good either. Twinings is much better…

100% agree, I drink a tea a day but these are so bad I can only drink 1/3 cup and tip the rest out. Save your money and buy Twinings. I know someone else who bought a box and threw it out after trying a couple.

Their black tea is terrible. Bought some before and thought it will be better than the common Lipton brand but it's just bad

    • Yes agreed, tried it and wish I had not.

    • Same, i bought the earl grey, had one cup and ditched the rest. Don't waste your money

If you actually want the tea most real brits drink buy "Yorkshire Tea". In Colesworth for the same price all the time. Its a quality brew.

    • +2

Agreed. Yorkshire tea is really good.

I prefer Nerada tea. Grown in Australia and owned by Australians
      https://neradatea.com.au/

    • agree, but don't try the "Extra Strong" one.. the normal one taste a lot better

    • Will keep this in mind. We still have half a box of twinnings morning breakfast to go througj but ill try thos next

  • +4

I bought this when it was half price also, didn't like the taste when comparing to twinnings English breakfast double strength

    • +2

This brand is only available in Coles, more like Coles own brand. It turned up when Twinnings increased price.

  • Probably worst tea I ever tasted.

  • +2

For a minute then I thought they were selling British passports! 😝

    • They’re blue.

  • Yeah this tea is rubbish

  • +1

Everything about this tea is bad. It doesn't taste good and the branding is really dumb. I remember seeing an ad for it about being 'the latest royal scandal' and it was at that point I knew it wasn't actually trying to be good tea, just "appear to be British". Buy a box of Yorkshire gold instead. Currently $5.50 at Coles.

Its bland and strength is weak. Better buy twinnings Assam bold.

      twinnings is disgusting

    • Its bland and strength is weak.

Seems to reflect the current state of affairs for those Royals.

    • Love the Assam bold too. Still need two bags in my morning cup though!

  • I like Dilmah the best !

  • +1

I tried this last time. Packaging looked good and I thought it was some premum tea. It didn't taste good. Even twining was better than it. Lucky I bought the 10 pack one

  • +1

Twinnings half price too across at Woolies. No point buying this one.

  • Avoid- its P155 water

  • +1

Bought this on sale for $3 for a 50 pack a while ago and wasn’t “wowed” - it was just normal tasting tea to me. To be honest, if you want a good black tea - try Twinings Australian Afternoon Tea. I think it’s also on sale, but at Woolies.
