Business Attire Trends 2022

Hi all,

I have to attend the office every workday and I work in a corporate sector.

Seeking inputs on business attire trends. I am a middle aged male. This year most of my male colleagues wore chequered and coloured shirt with non black trouser paired with tanned shoes (tanned soles). What you think males in corporate Australia will wear this year?

Thank you.

I don't think itll be any different to what your usual "dress code" would have been pre-COVID or currently.

I don't think you can ever go wrong with a business shirt + trousers, black/brown shoes. Or a suit if you that kind of person (I was, daily).

  • Sweat shirts and sweat pants.

  • I think the 'trend' of more 'business casual' is inevitable.

If you're born in 1965, or as many kids now call it "the mid 1900s," then middle-aged might be a stretch.

    • If OP is 56 then that is hardly middle aged. I'd say middle aged is 40-45 and google seems to agree.

    • or as many kids now call it "the mid 1900s,"

Well we are half-way to the mid-2000s…

Wear whatever you feel comfortable. Be confident and don't follow others.

  • Your HR may have a policy, you should ask them.

Oh man I do NOT miss business attire. Ironing shirts, dry cleaning, uncomfortable clothing. WFH means sweat pants and a t-shirt I woke up in!
