Stupidly ordered one today and they told me the promo starts tomorrow (I assume after Meat Free Mondays).

Limit of 5 per member.

That’s all I know.

Edit: it’s in the app now. And limit is 4 per member.

                @CodeXD: Hmm, thanks.

Me and my wife has been grilld relish members for years now, both have nothing in our app regarding impossible burger, just meat free Monday offer.

                Edit:Strange, I can see it there now…

  • Had the burger for lunch, better than Beyond meat but still nothing like a real juicy meat patty.

cool, thing about these is that they still add to your loyalty stamps.

    • Can you see a voucher for your next $5 burger?

      • I've used voucher 1/4 and now I can see 2/4 on the app

      • yeah took a while to refresh though

    • +1

Disagree. These are delicious and meaty as heck. I'd almost say indiscernible from a plain lean meat patty. Considering a Garden Goodness usually goes for $16.50 (who would pay that lol) these are a steal for a recovering former omnivore trying to avoid animal meat and the associated suffering. Also generally a great burger

My 2c on the health argument — people often muddy the waters in the debate by comparing processed vegetarian mock meat with unprocessed real meat. This ignores the fact that mock meat products typically compete with processed meat products which are also chock full of added salt, fat, preservatives and other additives that are hardly natural. All else being equal, I think the vege options are likely to be healthier (source — per 100g, Woolies brand vege sausages have significantly less saturated fat, sodium and overall energy than Woolies brand beef sausages).

  • +3

Verdict - got the garden patch one really delicious would try again

  • +3

I was happy with my burger and would pay $5 to eat this, but being a TA I wouldn't pay $13.50 to eat it over the $11.50 meat version.

    • +2

Code reduces costs to $5 no matter which burger you choose, I went for the $16.50 ones haha

    • That's fair. Economies of scale though. Literally the first week Australia has been able to buy them.

  • Anyone else still can’t see this on the app? Does it work in store if you just scan the relish code?

    • Try clicking on the “news story” about it and then back. That seems to have “activitiated” my offer because I couldn’t see it too, and then I can. I can’t explain how I got it to work but to try that.

      • +1

Thanks. That didn’t work for me though. What eventually worked was changing my store location. Hopefully this helps someone else :)

        • +1

That's what I did too! (store location)

  • Not showing up in my app. Pretty cheesed off. Staff member said he can’t honour the deal without the barcode. It’s advertised in app but not available?

    • Lol. But I just logged in on website and I can redeem the benefit there. Still mad 😂
Just paid full price for a meat burger. Smh

  • +5

Was pretty good, can’t say it was $16.50 good but for a fiver I enjoyed it. Thanks op

  • Appears to be one per day

    • App lets me order a 2nd one already.

    • +1

My second barcode arrived less than an hour later. Keen to try it again

  • +1

Does this count towards your relish membership 8 burgers?

    • Yes

      • Has it actually updated your rewards burger count towards the 8?

It shows 2/4 for this offer in the relish section but hasn’t updated the counter for the 8 burgers (until you get a free one). Can someone else confirm?

        • +1

I checked this morning and my $5 burger yesterday counts towards the 8.

          • @CodeXD: Thanks, looks like the counter updated overnight… so all good!

  • Somehow they only charged me $2. Free HFC bites in my deals with any burger too. Cheap dinner :)

Eager to taste this impossible burger.

  • +1

Signed up yesterday as a member but never got the deal. Is it personalised to each account?
Might have to sign up another one…

update: oops ignore, realised its in the final screen when paying online

  • +1

This was really good. Probably going to order again today.

  • +5

The flavour of the simply grilld was almost indistinguishable, only difference was less juicy.

Best plant burger I've tasted :)

  • I got two 2/4 coupons. there is bug I think lol

  • Used this deal yesterday for the first time and it's still displaying as if I haven't redeemed one. partner is the same

    • They seem to be having issues with the app. I ordered it today and didn’t have the deal in the app and the guy serving said to try and change my store location, then the deal appeared but this was after he comped me the difference between full price and $5.

After I sat down and did the app thing it came up with the voucher and says 1/4 so I think I can get 4 more $5 burgers this month.

Tried this for lunch today. Have to say it’s easily the best plant based burger I’ve ever had. Better than Beyond and better than the Rebel Whopper. It makes both of those look like cheap vegetable burgers.

It definitely tastes “meaty”, although I could tell it wasn’t beef. I ate it side by side with a beef burger and noticed the patty is definitely softer and more mushy than the beef burger. If someone handed me one and I didn’t know it was the Impossible burger I’d probably eat it without noticing the difference in flavor compared to a beef burger.

If I was eating one and someone asked me “what do you think is in that?” I’d probably take a bite and say some sort of meat as I’d realise it doesn’t taste exactly like beef but I still wouldn’t be sure.

Absolutely mindblowing that this thing is made of vegetables. Highly recommend those with an open mind to give it a shot, let the haters hate. Absolute steal for $5 and the fact you can get 4 burgers for $5 during November is also a damn good deal.

    • +2

Yeah good deal. I need to dissect the burger for my next meal. The sauce is too good

    • +2

thanks for the side-by-side test and review, that's a great way to find out if it's any good.

I'm looking forward to trying this tonight!

      • +2

All good! Wanted to see one myself but since no one made the comparison I had to (and have been keen to try this burger for literally years now).

  • vgan bootie

    • and her OF

  • Is it available for takeaway? or dine-in only, like the Meat Free Mondays were?

    • Takeaway available and also delivery but prices are more

  • +2

Having tried other fast food plant based meats the impossible patty smashes everything out of the park. I loved the umami flavour of the patty and how the flavourings weren't too overpowering compared to other plant based ones. The herbed mayo and relish was the godsend and lifted everything up.

    • which one did u order

      • talking about garden goodness I think

      • +1

Simply Grill'd. For the first one I thought I'd stick with the simplest one so you can actually taste more of the patty opposed to all the toppings.

        • i tried garden goodness yesterday and the other big one today.

I just picked the most expensive ones.

It was okay but i dont know not as good as baabaa burger or even the vegie patty one to me

          • @AussieMark: Mhmm to each their own. I guess I might give those a go when they have deals on

  • i ordered this yesterday but now cannot see the deal today? do you need to wait 24hr since last order?

    • Re install the app, or order on web and it should popup at checkout page

      • yeah still not showing up on website or app. guess its $5 maccas deal tonite

        • +1

Unlucky the Grill'd app is pretty shitty tbh. So poorly setup

    • still cannot see deal, i think i got scammed lol. cant sample the other 3.

    Review:

Tried the Garden Goodness Impossible burger.

Great burger. The patty tasted a little smokey, which was nice, and if I didn't think about it I could believe it was meat. The consistency of the patty was not the same as meat (a little too mushy) but similar enough. I have tried the beyond patty from grill'd in the past on the same burger, and I feel that the beyond patty did not have as much smokey meatiness, however in my opinion had a more meat-like consistency. Over-all I slightly prefer the old beyond patty they used to use, but only slightly, both are very good substitutes.

Would I choose it over a beef burger patty? Certainly whilst it is on special, and even after that, some of the time.

  • +2

My partner and I availed both of our first two burgers yesterday and today. Verdict is that they're way more meaty tasting than beyond, and just in general great burgers. Previously enjoyed the beyond but admit it had a weird rubbery quality to it I wasn't too fond of. The impossible is an absolute steal for $5. Also found out that it stacks with the mon-wed free student drink deal so I picked up an Impossible Garden Goodness and a Rekorderlig ($16.50 + $13?) for 5 bucks. Amazing. And apparently the student deal will be usable once per transaction per day I think. Value++

That said, I won't even consider buying these after the promo. 1. A burger thst costs more than $10 and doesn't come with chips just doesn't represent value to me considering how cheap and easy making your own awesome healthy burgers at home is. 2. I've heard some shady shit about Grilld's employment practices and question whether they deserve my money for overpriced burgers

    • +1

Yeah Grill’d is definitely on the more expensive side. Hopefully Impossible Foods starts selling it in supermarkets.

Good thing this promo will net you at least 4 * $5 burgers during November!

  • +4

Letting folks know that it's made from genetically modified (GMO) soy

    • +2

nothing wrong with GM products, in fact most of the veg and fruit today are GM, meaning there's higher yield/fibre content than the wild varieties. examples are banana, potato, tomato etc. basically everything. cows and pigs that people eat are GM and full of antibiotics and hormones too

  • +4

Got the Garden Goodness, very nice burger, good size too. Would never pay full price but I'll get my share of them at $5.

    • I'll try that next, not impressed with the original one. Rebel whopper much tastier imo even if not really comparable.

Having said that, I could easily go vegan if things like this were made cheaper, I grew up eating plenty of meat so just makes it really hard to go full on proper without eating meat substitutes.

  • Has any new signs not receive their second $5 offer after the first purchase?

    • I had this issue, used first $5 code and then never got a second one…

Had to create a new account and its working normal on the new one. 🤷‍♂️

      • How do you create a new account with the same phone number?

        • i had to use a different number

  • +2

Hands down the best plant based burger out there, by a mile!!!

Would I pay full price? No, I'd rather get the real beef!

But if I'm going to somehow eat these "fake" burger, the bar is now set damn high!

    • +4

Yep it is excellent. Got the grilled flavour and right texture, just wish it was cheaper. I saw the garden goodness is something ridiculous like $16.50. It is a $10 burger at best… but I still wouldn’t pay that. I find burgers too overpriced for what they are. Would love to buy the patties from the supermarket and make at home, the vege stuff is always on clearance dirt cheap at my local supermarkets.

      • Lord of the Fries are pretty affordable, if you're closer to one

  • I used all 4 vouchers on the app, however I still have 4 barcode apps that are ready to scan for an order in. Will come back with results next time I visit. 👍

    • Interesting. I also used all 4 and was given an extra one, an email was sent about it.

Edit: Ok, in the T&C it says 4 $5 burgers with a limit of 5 per member.

  • still no code, signed up on friday. my friend at work kept hyping it up too!

    • +1

      They are impossible burgers alright.

  • Does anyone know if the impossible burger voucher stacks with the birthday free drinks voucher?

    • -2

Yes , it stacks with free chips , free bday drink , free student drink lol

      • Really? I thought you could only apply one voucher per order

        • Yes exactly i get an error message saying not eligible and please refer to the terms and conditions that only one voucher may be used?

      • How do you stack it with the other vouchers? Are you paying in person or ordering on the app?

        • No, does not stack. I went in there restaurant and asked the staff if I'm able to claim more than 1 voucher code and said no. I saw a comment above that said, your able to and the person was successful. I'm not sure it might depend on the restaurant, also left feedback why I can't stack told me only 1 voucher can be used not multiple vouchers. Basically what they are trying to do is milk money off of you by wanting you to buy a full burger in order to claim the free chips or drink. But who would buy a full priced burger? which costs about $11-$18.

          • @Thomas C: Thanks gotcha! Yeah the person above probably got it thru restaurant. The app set in stone

  • +2

Grilld Leichhardt is not honouring the deal as they’ve “run out”
Apparently they have said all other Grilld stores have run out of Impossible burger stocks

Plenty of customers here being turned away today.

    • +1

i would send a complaint to head office
i redeemed mine down here in melbourne no problems

      • +1

Do you have their email address?
I've put a complaint for now via the online web enquiry form but I'm always a bit skeptical where those end up.

    • +1

Redeemed just fine here in VIC.
