No Way to Leave a Review for IKEA Products?

Bought a Markuys char, and wanted to war people that it is not ideal to use if you're short etc.

But seems there's no way to review, even after loggin in.

Anyone else noticed?

If you bought a chair and want to start a war, that seems like a you problem.

It's a typo by OP, he meant to say warn people

      • +7

Nah, read it carefully. Thems fighting words.

How about contacting IKEA about it? You can chat with them.

Just yell at them, it's the Pam way of doing things.

Fwark, OP needs a lesson in googling.

      • +8

Lots of forum posts are basically asking people to google on their behalf.

can you please provide the link to google?

From what I can tell it must be selective on Ikea's part.

You can't leave a review for any product you want, you have to wait for them to send you an email inviting you to review after you've purchased a product.

I know I've gotten these emails in the past, and looking at Ikea's website now there seems to be no other way to leave a review.

    Anyone else noticed?

It's clearly documented, did you check the specs it clearly shows 46-57cm from bum to floor.

      Doesn't do any research.

@DashCam AKA Rolts: The missing element in this post is, OP's height?

We could be seeing a next post.

Gotta be honest, I am kind of impressed the OP used the right "you're" given the spelling and grammar in the rest of the post.

Why are a majority of reviews for products that I read about 90% the fault of the buyer who didn't do their due diligence only to leave a review because they were too stupid to research what they were buying and somehow this is the manufacturer's or the retailers fault?

…not ideal to use if you're short etc.

I'm long - would that okay?

  • +6

Ikea very clearly shows the dimensions of the item and have the item on display in store.
If you and other people cannot do simple things like measuring your self in a seated position and compare against the chairs measurements then tough luck ikea doesn't deserve the negative review you're clearly looking to write.

    head over to IKEA
    stand next to the product
explain to everyone that this is not for short people

should be your life mission to assist people!

    DO IT NOWWWWW

*stand on stool next to the product

Ikea has a longish return period even if the product is assembled but unused. Maybe start there instead of declaring war.

  • +2

They literally have the full specs on the website and a showroom for you to try the products before you buy….

Try raising your floor, it might help

You need a “short people who bought this chair also bought this”.

    https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/dagotto-foot-rest-black-2024099…

Me, I’m 5 ft short (ya can’t say tall when ya my height). I’m used to dealing with this sort of thing. The foot rest might, actually, help. I’ve used one in the past when I’ve dealt with chairs that don’t let my feet touch the ground.

My whole family are short arses. My brother got a T-shirt printed that says “Life is too short to be unhappy” only “Life is” has been crossed out and replaced with “I’m”.

If in doubt, take it back. IKEA will allow you to do that.

    • Hah! I'm 5 ft tall! I say tall at this height, screw the tall people guarding that word from us shrimps!

      • I trade off “can’t reach stuff on the supermarket shelves” against “there isn’t a bed I can’t sleep in”. I don’t have an issue with my height. There’s little in life that a step ladder can’t fix.

        • what happened to your real ladder?

  • Ti rep ta u

  • If you think the Marcus chair is bad, wait till you hear about SecretLabs chairs. Theyre for oversized humans only, even the small size. Makes sense since its targeting one of the worlds most obese population.

  • I'm not really a tall person, 176cm and I am sitting in a Markus right now. What do you consider short?

  • Bought a Markuys char, and wanted to war people

You might wanna leave a review for your keyboard for skipping letters first, then for 'char'. Priorities people, priorities.

  • I wonder how such posts make it to the front page.

  • +1

What is the etc supposed to include beyond short? Unusually tall but short-legged? Without legs? Someone who is not short but likes sitting real low? Or is it completely unrelated, e.g. people who simply prefer to stand?

    Waiting for response OP.

  • I had the same problem. Viewed product in store and then picked it up from service area. However, it came in multiple sizes and the size I wanted was not on the floor.

It wasn't until I came home that I realized that the size I bought looked different from all the other sizes. So weird. Despite having the same name etc. I was able to confirm on pictures/specs on site that it was indeed supposed to be different I guess, but it wasn't obvious and I didn't notice when browsing the first time (and there was no floor stock to view). Never seen something like this before at Ikea.

Anyway, it was fine and all, but I tried to leave a review to let others know. Except I swear there was no way to leave a review.

    • They do reviews via email

  • Ikea sends a "what do you think of your purchase from IKEA?" email after you purchase an item, if you are a member. That is how you leave a review. It's to stop spam I guess.

    Looks like this.
