PLUSTCH

Cheapest price for the Corsair RM650X V2 power supply. Got myself one to replace a 9 year old SilverStone Strider Gold Evolution Series 750W ST75F-G-E Power Supply. Its time to retire that unit to a life of being an emergency backup spare.

There's also the RM750X for $144.41 if you dont mine white.

Looking at reviews VS the new RMX 2021 models there's not much difference and they are both still manufactured by the OEM - Channel Well Technology for corsair.. Some amazon reviews state the new 2021 models have much nosier fans.

Modern standby is the key differentiator, which is important for Alder Lake (12th gen) and future architectures.

    • What is modern standby?.. my 9 year old power supply has no issies with standby

Helps keep power draw low when the system is only sipping small amounts to maintain basic operations. Similar to phone SoC tech, but the architectures on desktop are a little more power hungry so far.

Waste of time and money… i have a thing called " TURN OFF PC" when not in use… its has an NVME 4.0 SSD thats boots back into windows within 10 seconds :) .. cant beat ZERO power draw in OFF mode lol

who cant wait less then 10 seconds to boot back into windows.. OMG

@vid_ghost: It has other power states. Further to that, eventually you can have a desktop device that remains on a connected standby to facilitate online or smart home features.

            Again, similar to a phone.

            • @jasswolf: a feature is a feature.. better to have it i guess.. i will never use it much like so many other features in tech.
