I will wait for these cards to get back to their RRP at some point and maybe buy one.
Cant stand buying a 3060 for that much when an xbox series x is as fast as a 3070 but costs $750

    https://www.denofgeek.com/games/playstation-5-xbox-series-x-…

"The PS5’s AMD GPU is roughly equivalent in power to an RTX 2080 Super and the Xbox Series X’s AMD GPU is about as powerful as an RTX 2080 TI."

My current graphics card is about 4+ years old and on its last legs. It's crazy how bad these prices are, but i unfortunately had to pull the trigger. I've heard of people paying $1500+ for the non pro version :(
Now i need to work out how to claim part of it back on tax and how i explain the need to purchase this with the wife lol.

      Any deals on caskets?

Wood prices are up by 30%, so might be cheaper to buy a shovel from Bunnings and dig a hole

        • Isn't that the truth… finally got some coin to build a 35m2 deck and replace 100mtrs of fencing and getting stung on that front too :(

          • @lac0449: I had a 40m2 deck built at the start of Covid - so happy I did now as the prices shot up bigtime

This company has a terrible reputation for misleading advertising and some of the worst customer service around.

They regularly claim to have stock when they're just dropshipping and have no issue cancelling orders when it doesn't work out for them.

For anyone who doesn't know about megabuy yet, checkout feedback from their customers before you consider placing an order. A couple of links to get you started.

ProductReview feedback (Sudden rush of 5 star reviews from one post wonders makes me more inclined to stay away but make of that what you will)

        81 pages of Whirlpool feedback

If you're after more info on the company, check feedback for the other sites they also run.

        • Fair call. I've personally never dealt with them, so it's good to know (info you've provided). When I spoke to them, they said they had access to about 20, but until the product is in your hands, its just a verbal.
I've gone in with taking the risk, if it ends up being several weeks and they can't supply or prove painful in a refund, intent is to fall back on using paypal to clawback or even via my credit card company. Not preferred, but cover you bases if it all goes wrong.

Can only hope it all pans out in a good way.

If I wait till 2023, will the new cards be closer or even further from their RRP?

      • +3

I think its becoming more of "you pay the price at whatever you're happy to part with" rather than what the RRP actually is.
(you either buy it at the stupid prices it is, or you don't)

      • +1

It's really based on supply vs demand, and sometime, greed… No guarantee the card price will remain the same while the new generation Rtx 40xx to be more expensive.

      • +1

If they double their RRP next time new cards will be spot on. :)

        • Rtx4090 will be double the performance, double the power, and double the price.

@couger: Remember the time where you can build a mid tier gaming system for $1200~$1500? Now you need to reserve that for a mid tier gaming card

            • @Alva10: I bought my gtx 1070 from Amazon US for $600 5 years ago, today you can buy a rx6600 for bit over .

      • +1

Not sure, but I'm hopeful. Nvidia has come out and said chip shortages and supply constraints will continue well into next year but they're confident things will be back on track by late'22 or early'23

    • Tiny list supported by better frames and resolutions as opposed to every game being at your preferred frames and resolutions, I know which i'd prefer.

    • +2

Honestly, the PS5 and XSX are not that fast. A PC running a RTX 2080 TI will definitely perform better than a XSX. Regardless of this, if you are looking to game and not fussed whether its PC or Console, you would be mad to build a gaming PC right now. Consoles offer a lot better value, especially with Gamepass.

    • There is almost no chance that these cards will get back to RRP any time soon. You will be waiting forever. Swallow the premium, buy the card, game with it, and get on with your life.

  • This is so crazy

Gaming OC is 3 fans If I remembered correctly

This has been out of stock for months. If you add it to cart you can clearly see that its not available. Can we atleast check its in stock before we post this?

    • you are 100% right sir

how is megabuy nowadays? I remember after the HP fiasco they were deemed nevabuy and no deals have really enticed me to order from them since then

given this is a high demand product i am wary of their past practices of selling stock that's at distributors prior to it being locked in and then giving you the run around for months after regarding refunds or updates on the location of the product you ordered ages ago

    would appreciate an update

  • Those who adopt the I'm waiting for RRP" [for the current gen of cards], you would most likely be waiting and waiting and waiting, and either crumbling paying up eventually or switching to console.

    • except you cant get current gen consoles at RRP either, so they'll just sit there playing with their worry beads until the end of time.

There is no stock. When I add the item to cart, it says out of stock, but still there is a payment option.

My order has been cancled. disappointing. They claimed it was a listing error.
