Bose Sleepbuds II $279 Delivered @ Myer

130

Just grabbed this as the traffic noise is too much when I visit family in Sydney. Hopefully works for me.
Not the best price ever but not too bad with the Cashrewards running at the moment - Cashrewards increased Myer cashback for an extra 10% off but that will only be until 6pm today (12/11).

Amazon has price matched this as well.

  • get yourself a white noise machine from amazon. A lot of people are using both to mask the noise.

    • Any particular white noise machines because my snoring is really annoying my partner haha.

      • I don't have one but I notice that a lot of users were talking about white noise machine when buying this buds. However most of users use buds to mask the noise from the outside of their house such as traffic noise etc. Not sure if it can help your situation as your snoring is right next to your wife's ears which could be very difficult to mask it. You may check the reviews and comments on Amazon about the white noise machine.

I use the Marpac Dohm. Only recently picked up the soundbuds II. I literally hear nothing else now, sleep through everything. I'm a shift worker and need to sleep from 1-3 in the arvo before work and also use them from 5-6am until I wake to drown out the kids and whatever else.

      • I wholeheartedly recommend the Lectrofan:

        https://www.earjobs.com.au/products/lectrofan-asm1007-digita…

Non-looping sound effects covering a wide gamut of the white noise spectrum. Goes really loud if you need it to.

    • Personally I use the MyNoise app, stick on a bit of Irish Coast and I'm basically Pavlov'd off to sleep at this point. A guy named Stephen went around the world recording sounds and put up the MyNoise site. Allows mixing of sounds too, like Tibetan singing bowls and cat purring etc. So many sounds, go check it out.

    • I don't mind that idea and have tried it a bit on the Google home. However my partner is not a fan of it so wouldn't work for us.

    Price-matched at Amazon

  • Such a strange product, pricey headphones that only allow for you to play the 10 or so proprietary preloaded songs, no music or anything other than that. These would be worth it if they did. It's just really odd, there doesn't seem any reason why they'd lock this out other than to avoid potential lawsuits from people wrecking their hearing by listening to non-vetted music for 8 hours while they sleep.

Damn this purpose-built piece of technology not doing something different.

I bought a set about a month ago. Someone new moved into the apartment opposite my bedroom and shouts loudly on the phone every night from 11pm to 4am. These were a good solution to my preference for white noise plus drowning out the new neighbour. I recommend these.

Reminder that you if you have the originals sitting in a drawer somewhere you can make a warranty claim saying there's something wrong with the battery and they'll send you these ones as a replacement. I had some that I bought in 2018 that I got replaced this year.

Bought a pair about a month back from Bose directly because they have a 90 day guarantee.

Absolutely hate them. Find them very uncomfortable compared to all other earbuds I've owned before and have given me an earache every time I have used them. I gave them to my partner and she said the same thing. When it's 90 days, I will return them for a refund. They look good but the price really is rediculous for a earpods where you can only listen to sounds through the Bose app.

Moral, whoever you buy from make sure you can still get the Bose 90 day guarantee.

  • I would stay away from Bose. My experience is you have to pair up to their App all the time. Turn on location etc. Certainly very boring to have to do all the time. Really detracts from user experience

  • Are there many wireless buds with these wings for general use? I find they're the only ones that stay in for me

  • Any tried the Xiaomi equivalent to these?

    • The Amazfit Zenbud? Stay away from them, initial experiences were good, does what it sells - blocking sound. But the battery soon fail after 1 year. the left earbud will only last an hourish while the right one will stay for 6 hours. Originally, they can stay for around 9 hrs, so the battery deteriotion is insane. No customer support either, they don't respond to warranty claims unlike Bose.

      • Damn. But thanks for the review

Xiaomi makes a lot of good stuff for reasonable prices. I'm always hopeful their equivalent is just as good

  • These are 269 at Myers now, they are OOS online but if you call up they still have them instore at some places.
