I am startling to regret that I bought the amplifi…should have gone thr unifi route which comes with all the bells and whistles :/

Not the cheapest the UDM Pro has ever been but I ordered it the other day for $509 also. I found prices as low as ~$470 in the past and was tempted to wait for Black Friday but bit the bullet anyway.
Great price on the U6 Lites too. I paid $150 each for them (6wks ago) and they've been cheaper every week since.

Struggling with my Asus now we have over 50 clients and seen many recommendations for the pro.
Does it need a rack?
It ships with rubber feet that you can place on the bottom of the unit to place on a desk/table, rack mounting isn't required.
As long as you’re aware it’s not a wireless router, you’d need the Access Point also. It may be worth looking at the non Pro Dream Machine which is an Access Point. Pros good if you also want to run Unifi security cameras.
Just FYI. I purchased the entire suite, UDMPro,16P POE Gen 2 switch,Smart UPS. 2xU6 WAPs, 4k Dome Cams, door bell.
Just the 3RU Produces significant heat if cabinet not in an open area with good ventilation. Kinda of regret it as a home setup. Took it down and looking down at the smaller USG path + cloud key without the UDMPro.
Could you share what you paid for each component? I’m looking at the same setup and would love to know what a decent price is for these
Not that great. But I didnt want to hassle of waiting for specials for the kit to be up.
Ironically its down now due to heat in the cabinet. :(

Thanks man. That is a worry I was thinking of rack mounting in the garage but by the sounds of it summer would be a concern
@Sandyspunkwinkle: I think if you have a cabinet in an open garage that would be fine. My situation was that the rack location wasn't in the best location, enclosed on top of the linen closet and the roof cavity. So basically very little if any air flow.
Just wasn't expecting the entire rack to to be pulling 160-180W of power constantly. ** This included a 2 Drive Synology NAS and the UDMPro had a 3.5 HDD purple in there for the cams.
@pegasusx: Is there some reason you haven't put fans into your rack… ?
Not much gear is going to be able to cope with zero air movement ! Just cut a couple of 12cm holes into the side and use a couple of silent PC fans from a 12v supply.
@Nom: Long story but I had .. 2 x industrial sealed bearing ac fans to go into the roof cavity. Another issue was the humming… You dont notice initially but very subtle.

The USGs suck at the moment and Ubi haven't even announced a replacement for the USG. They have announced the line, but only a UXG-Pro nothing else. So you might be waiting a while.
