Ahh the yearly black friday sale from QL.

  • Want to get the ring, but need 2 to qualify free shipping.

    • +2

I’m not a fan of the ring. Have to remove it everything you need to Mount the phone and there is no neat place to store it. Poorly designed.

      • Agreed with the ring design, should have had a back up area for it to be stored.

      • Yup I thought it would be really useful but it's actually a pain removing it every time you need to actually lock it onto your bike/motorbike.

I keep it in my wallet incase I need to setup my phone somewhere.

        • +2

doesn't it come with a Carabiner, so you can just hook it somewhere.

          • @sauce2k: Mine didn't. But I bought it 2 ish years ago

            • +1

@Telios: It does now. Probably due to feedback

  • +1

    Is quad lock worth it?

    • +5

I was using a cheaper solution from amazon (bike phone holder, using the straps to hold the phone in), eventually the stem snapped off mid-ride and I almost lost my phone. So, for me personally, Quadlock (whilst I think insanely expensive for what it is) does genuinely do the job.

      • Their support team is good too. My universal adapter broke (probably because it was bent from the curvature of the case I stuck it to, and the ring not flexing with the curvature) and they replaced it for me

    • +2

They seem to be the most sturdy and reliable option on the market. I've known a few people that have crashed their bikes and the phone has stayed attached, unlike the riders.

Dunno about the car and motorbike gear but for cycling it's definitely nice having the peace of mind that no matter the road surface my phone stays put.

      • I did 3000km around tassie on my motorbike with plenty of dirt roads and it held up great.

    • They seem to be very good quality, I'm debating it for my new Pixel 6 for cycling. Though sticking my phone in my jersey pocket doesn't really annoy me, I guess it could be useful for GPS.

    • Too expensive for me. I went with iottie easy one touch 5. It's being sold in Autobarn as HLCRIO171 Easy One Touch 5 Dash & W/Shield but it's the same brand.

    • I used one for many years, upgrading the case for each new phone and using it mainly on my bikes. While it's sturdy and secure, it doesn't allow for wireless charging, and in particular MagSafe charging on iPhones, so I finally moved on to a different case and mounts. I do miss the ease of mounting and unmounting it, but happier to be able to choose any case and get wireless magnetic charging, particularly in my car.

      • +1

I have found the QuadLock wireless charging head works well on the devices I have tried (Samsung Galaxy S7/S7e/S9/S10e).

        • That requires you to mount the phone to it while charging, as opposed to just resting it on the charger. It also means having the wireless charging mounts everywhere you want to charge.

          • @whatgift: The devices above also charge fine (while in QuadLock cases) on my Samsung wireless charger.
I find the bike/car/moto mounting worth the price.

    • Yes for me. Have the stem mounts on my bikes and the windscreen mount for the car. Secure, clips in easily, and I had good support one of the mounts won't spring back and they replaced.

    • totes worth it!

  • +1

Thanks OP got a case and ring stand.

  • +1

    Thanks!!!

  • +1

Thanks, bought the motorcycle mount with a couple of accessories. Good price.

  • +1

If you need one for bike or motocycle purpose, this one is really worthy~~~~
But, if you just need one sturdy, drop-resistant and durable phone case, just go for UAG, Otterbox or Tech21~~
This case is mainly designed for outdoor sport purpose….

  • so op

  • Does anyone have issues attaching glass screen protectors to their iPhone 12/13 Quadlock cases? Had so many issues with my iPhone XS as the cases

    • I have on my iPhone 11 Pro with tempered glass at the moment. Everytime I use the quadlock case, the edges of the glass would come off because the case pushes the edges. Reached out to Quadlock and they recommend buying their tempered glass which sits better with their cases. I am sure it’s their marketing technique but with the 30% off, thought I would try. Will find out soon whether it works

  • So meaning I gotta buy the case too?

    • I use the universal mount on the case that came with the OnePlus 7T Pro, and it sticks super well. I work in a dusty environment and it hasn't lost any stickiness or anything. Use it for motorbike riding too.

      So give that a shot?

Quad Lock are awesome, I've only had one dealing with their customer service department and they were absolutely amazing.

I bought a used motorcycle and the quadlock mount that was on it was missing a small part. I couldn't find it on the website and they ended up sending parts out to me free of charge. In addition to that, I've never heard of anyone complaining that the mount wasn't secure enough.

    Can't recommend them enough.

  • +1

Thanks op I was waiting for black friday aswell just picked up one at 30% off.

    Thank you

  • thanks, been waiting for a decent discount from them. pixel 6 pro sorted!

  • Thanks, works!

  • At last they've added the extended screws back in!

    Goooooooo

  • +1

Spendy yes but after using a few cheap ebay jobs and almost losing my phone on a few occasions, I'm glad I invested in a quad lock. Decent product IMO.

    • yeah you get what you pay for!

  • Anyone had issues with the usb charger for motorcycle. Had 2 fail so fare. Not fast charging. Swapping to slow charge and sometimes not charging at all

  • +1

motorbike kit - saved $40. thanks.

  • +1

Thanks legend ∞. Code worked great. Saved $21 on a basic bike mount and case for my wife's phone.

  • Can anyone recommend which mount I should select for road cycling? That is, stem, out-front or our-front pro. Thanks!

    • What kind of bike do you ride. If it's a flashy road bike you can go the pro. It sticks out more for aerodynamic.

    • They all work on road bikes.

My bike has an good length stem so I normally use the stem mount.

Have previously used the extended with no issues (currently on mountain bike).

      • I like the out front pro mount, which gets the phone a bit further ahead of the sweat drip zone.

        • +1

You can also attach a GoPro mount under the Out Front mount. You can attach a light like the Cycliq to that.

  • So, you need a phone case from them every time you change your phone?

    • Yes just as you'd buy a phone case for your new phone anyway

      • -2

I don't buy phone cases normally. My last one came with a case though.
If I had to buy a case I would prefer to select from hundreds manufacturers and retailers and not just from one supplier.

        • Then yeah fair enough, if you prefer not to have to buy a new phone case every however many years you buy a new phone then might have to check out other holder options

They do function as a pretty damn hefty protective case though if you do decide to go with these, had mine for about a year now with my pixel 5 and it's held up the many drops I've had, without showing any wear or tear

        • +1

What, you think QL should provide you with a new case every time you replace your phone do you?

You're missing the point of this device… it's extremely tough. Why anyone would buy a Quad Lock just for the desk or car I don't know. This is predominantly for riders, who want to be sure that the phone is going nowhere!

          • @R00D: I never said they should provide a new case to me. I just asked whether one needs a case from them to make the mount work.

If you want my opinion, I do not want a mount which needs to come with a propriatory case different for every phone. For all I know, they may not even produce a case for mine. Or, they may stop making cases 3 years later for the phones that would come out in the future. Then I will need to throw away the mount.

            • -1

              @Musiclover: More rhetorical questions, boring…

          • +1

@R00D: car kit is also better than cheap options that snap because they can't handle the weight of the phone.

    • +4

Or get the universal one that sticks to your case

    • +1

So, you need a phone case from them every time you change your phone?

No, I use the universal adaptor and stick it onto a case from Spigen or Ringke or similar. You just need a case with a rigid back. You can reuse the universal adaptor when you change phones.

  • +1

Hmm this or this cheap ebay knockoff for $4. Looks exactly the same just is mostly made from plastic?

    • Looks great. Its $14 though

      • Sorry forgot to mention, $4 with ebay plus.

        • +1

Cant see the option on the listing even though I am ebay plus member.

Possible to tell the promo code on the banner please

          • @fantoo: Might not be related to ebay plus, but you can try: BPLUSQFZXPP877M

            • @SlickAU: Looks like thats linked to your account. Maybe $10 off no minimum spend code

    • Sticks out a bit, so not quite aero enough for my road bike. But I’ll grab it for my Ubereats bike thanks!

    • I'd be a little concerned with knockoffs as due to the design, the plastic has to be really strong. Cheap plastic can break sending your phone flying. Quad Lock uses a polycarbonate for their parts.

  • I stocked up on so much last year, all o need this year is a new case, for new phone. $39 spend to get free shipping

    • Just try to find someone else ( maybe here) who is looking to buy and hopefully around where you live. I did the same with one of my mates who was looking for a mount. Just tagged along

  • Thanks, been waiting for this for a while now. Ordered

  • Does anyone know how the iPhone 13 cases go with wireless charging? Will they still be compatible with the new magnetic charging?

    • +1

Should be fine I have no problem wireless charge my XS max with and without the Quadlock ring.

    • +1

An iPhone 13 in a quadlock case won’t charge on Ikea wireless charger but an iPhone 11 does. That might be due to the wireless charger’s capability more than the case. There’s info on Quadlock’s website.

    • My iPhone 13 does not charge on my wireless charger with quad lock case on, very annoying design flaw. My iPhone 10 did charge with quad lock case on the same wireless charger.

If anyone has any solutions please share!

  • Bought a full set. Been waiting for it on sale for very long time. Thanks

  • 130+ hits for a $120 bicycle mount. this must be very good

  • just ordered a case 2 days ago with the 10% off coupon. will they accept returns if I return it unopened?

    • Yes they do. No exchanges but definitely returns.

  • +1

Anyone else have issues with the wireless charging never working due to the temperature? And also the the holder falling off the windscreen repeatedly? I love the concept but the reality is not working for me!

  • +1

Thanks good timing. Just got two new ebikes and was starting to look into these.

  • Have this. Great bike mounts. BULKY BULKY cases.

    • On the flipside, I've/my kids have dropped my pixel 5 with QL more times than I can recall and it hasn't suffered any damage, no screen cracks or anything.

      • drop while riding the bike?

    • I tried my friend’s one, it isnt that bulky

  • So what would people recommend for a gift for someone who has an electric scooter? Motorbike or bike kit? And if bike, which style? The scooter is relatively high end, does have off road capacity, but is mostly used for commuting.

  • Bugger, just purchased items from them last week. Wonder if they'll honour the 30% off.

  • -1

Would be interested if I wasn't on my learners, guess I'll have another look in 3 years lmao

  • when is the promotion ends?i need to change my phone as contract ends soon.

    • I assume at the end of Black Friday, 26th of November.

      • thanks legend! still deciding what phone to get. lol

  • Does the referral bonus stack with the discount?

    • +1

No. Or rarher, I couldn't get it to stack….

  • Anyone in Brisbane near Indooroopilly area and keen to team up for free delivery? I just need S10+ case and postage sort of kills the deal.

  • +1

Saved $55! Ordered the following for my bike:
    - Wireless head charger
    - Vibration dampener
    - 360 dual pivot arm
    - Handlebar clamp

    • @lazyiebone
Can the 360 dual pivot arm be used on a motorbike too?
Or is it best reserved for cars ?
They have the Motorcycle Knuckle Adaptor which only has the 90 deg of motion. But your 360 dual pivot seems better for a little more $$.

      • +1

Yep the 360 dual pivot works well on a motorbike. Iv got a photo on how I mounted the Quadlock on my IG @chiewwwy

  • TIP TO SAVE MORE:

Before buying individual pieces check to see if there is a kit that includes the bits you're after - the kits are cheaper. I just saved around $10 for the same three items case + mount + wireless charger…

    • That's interesting, because from what I could see, the kit is the same price as individual pieces.
Mainly looking at case for S21 and motorcycle mount.
      Can you confirm?

      • Interesting, i presumed it applied to all kits. But i see it doesn't.
        For my S10+
Individual items of case + car mount + wireless charger total = $101.43
        Kit = $90.96

        • Perhaps slightly older phone, slightly cheaper price….perhaps.

  • Another option to look at is Peak Design's Mobile. The adaptor is lower-profile and looks easier to use. It's also compatible with Apple's MagSafe charging.

You're going to be paying Peak Design prices of course. :)
