I've been eyeing the 32gb one but tempted to pull the trigger on the 16gb one. Starting to question if i really need the 32gb and spend $100 more…thoughts?

  • ARGB?

Damn technology. LEDs that can make the product transparent!?

  • Says 3200 not 3600, right?

    • You can get 3600mhz C16 for this price on sale

      • Where?

        • Cheapest at the moment
          https://www.megabuy.com.au/micron-crucial-ballistix-8gb-ddr4…

          2x8gb comes to $106

        • but don't buy single sticks if you want to run two (or four)

and if you need shipping and know someone local with Amazon Prime, then it is easiest - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B083VN642Z/

$129 free shipping (via KS computers)

          • @HeXa: A kit is only going to be tested at XMP, same as a single stick. There shouldn't be any difference?

            • @greatlamp: if just doing guaranteed speeds, then shouldn't matter

if overclocking, having sticks from the same batch helps a lot with knowing what ICs, revisions & OC success you will get

(these sticks, not so much - but much bigger problem with Corsair as their offerings are a clusterf*ck)

              • @HeXa: its a ballistix 3600 c16 8gb sr stick. what else could it be but rev e

                • @abjsdhasehasee: different variations of IC - my two kits that were made a few months ago are all Micron Rev.E C9BLM

earlier sticks can differ, e.g. C9BKV or C9BJZ

If a retailer has a high stock turnover, getting a mix of old and new stock shouldn't be much of an issue

        Yep I purchased Crucial 16GB Kit (2x8GB) Ballistix RGB DDR4 C16 3600MHz Black for $109.00 last week.
Not sure why this is a deal. A 3200Mhz CL16 kit is $89 plus postage here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/662402
Crucial Ballistix 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz CL16 DDR4 was in the low $90 with free shipping from multiple stores in the last week or two (shopping express for example)

        • as did I for my Alderlake build - in white

those 3600 with tighter C16 timings are a better starting point for the IMCs in recent Intel & AMD CPUs - cheap and with some overclocking potential, as very good chance they will be Micron E-die (allowing tighter timings & increased speed, if not both)

  • the 3200 with those timings will be SK Hynix dies

the 3600 CL14 is where the fun starts with Samsung B-die

that said, still sexy RAM and a great price for it, but is the (s)lowest of the range

    • Could also be Samsung C-die
