LG SP11RA 7.1.4ch Soundbar: Meridian, Dolby Atmos, Airplay, Google $1,235 + Delivery ($0 to Selected Cities) @ Appliance Central

120

Cheapest price I can find for this amazing soundbar. JB/HN and the other big stores have this for $1,600. Other stores do have this slightly cheaper but delivery charges take it beyond $1,270. I'm not an audiophile by any means but I was blown away by the sound quality. Connecting to it via Bluetooth and Wifi to stream music via my phone is a breeze. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase.

  • Q950a could be brought for cheaper

    • From where? The cheapest I could find the Q950A was $1,199 for a refurbished unit from Buy Smarte

    • I got the Q950a for $1250 which is the cheapest I have seen it, so it's probably pretty comparable in terms of pricing.

    • Of course, costs nothing to move it

  • How does this compare to the Samsung Q950a?
I have the Q950a with my LG C1, so I am just curious on how the LG soundbar system goes against the Samsung.

    • That's the setup I want. Waiting for next year oleds. How do you find the q950a?

      • So far I love it, it is well loud and havent had any issues with the bass that some people reported for it. The soundbar is a beast though, it's huge. I am still yet to get rear speaker stands so I can set the rear speakers in the right spot but the surround sound has been awesome so far. Absolutely love it when playing the new Spider-Man MM on the PS5. The directional sound is really good.

        • Nice yer I got it too have mounted rears on wall I'm not total impressed with it and not sure I'm happy with the entire bubble of sound feeling. Maybe room and speaker levels need adjusting.

    • 4 additional channels on the Samsung but more or less neck on neck when looking at frequencies and technical specs. The LG does have a slightly wider soundstage but you're pretty much splitting hairs. One place where the LG does shine is the significantly better latency over ARC and Optical (not sure if anyone still uses this). The LG also has Chromecast built in which the Samsung doesn't.

      • The Samsung Q950a now has Chromecast audio support via an OTA update.

        • Fair enough. It didn't come up in my research. Thanks for clarifying

  • $1238 at Good Guys Commercial - https://www.thegoodguyscommercial.com.au/lg-714ch-770w-dolby…

But I think the Q950A is still a better unit acoustically speaking.. not speaking from experience, just research as I'm in the market and flipping between these two very systems for my LG CX 65".. ;)

    • When paired with the LG CX or C1 the thing to be aware of is the LG Soundbars fit under the front edge of the screen, the Samsung Soundbar is taller and does not so if your soundbar is placed right in front of tv it covers the screen slightly. You can easily get a stand to lift the tv if you need to though.

      • Yep, that was one of my initial concerns but in my case I'm looking to mount my TV and have the SB on a shelf that would be a good foot under the screen (once I get the reno done in my loungeroom)! Cheers! :)

      • I was thinking of getting some wood blocks to prop the tv up an extra 2cm to help with that - is there some other way to do it?

    • Has anyone got access to GG Commerical?
      Cheers

Yeah. The LG and Samsung ones are linked above if that’s what you’re looking for.

  • I'd almost regret my SJ9, but I have had it for some time…

  • Trying to decide between this and the sonos arc :/

    • +2

Sonos Arc is the cost of this but only the bar. I was deciding between the Sonos and the Samsung but Sonos don't go on sale much so to get a full system with the Sonos it was over $3k whereas I could get the full system with the Samsung Q950A for $1250.

I watched a lot of reviews comparing the Arc and the Q950a and yes the Arc did seem like it was better in most things, it wasn't double as good which it needs to be to justify the price difference.

No bluetooth no buy for me..

  • Been looking at this since they released it to pair with my CX.
That's just the normal price from AC and pretty sure I saw it on AO for $1240

Waiting for Black Friday to see if it'll go lower before pulling the trigger.

  • Anyone know how the ai room calibration is compared to the arcs one?

  • +3

I would suggest holding off on buying this at that price! I can’t say anything at the moment, but we’ll have it cheaper for our Black Friday sale. Which we’re going to start on Monday as every other retailer has jumped the gun. All I can say is that it’ll be the cheapest it has ever been!

    • who is we ?

Looking at his old posts. I'd say Betta, but that was last year, so who knows.

    990 now

    • VideoPro has it for 980. JBHIFI price matched, then used $500 for the 15% off TCN cards. Ended up costing me $905 in total.
