    any kits on special?

    • +1

I'd buy a kit with 8 of these cameras

  • Great camera, AI detection is a little basic. If someone parks their car near the camera and then it can see a tree move it'll keep alerting you that it seen a car, I've had people walk up my driveway and past the camera (the camera can see all of this) and no alerts but will alert me as they walk away

      Great camera

      then

I've had people walk up my driveway and past the camera (the camera can see all of this) and no alerts but will alert me as they walk away

      that does not compute.

    • Just put in an RLC-822A and this doesn't happen for me. Works sweet. You might need to adjust some settings (like min/max person size, vehicle size)

    • i have found it has missed 3 motion events (that I'm aware of) in 6 months. I have NVR recording 24 hours a day so I will capture whatever happens regardless of motion trigger. Knowing that not 100% of motion triggers an event means you need to have overlapping cameras (to hopefully have a trigger on at least 1 camera) or hope you catch the important stuff. 99%+ triggers though. I have an Annke NC800 coming someday that I hope will be perfect :)

  • Thank you OP, any deals for E1 ZOOM?

    • Currently AUD 69.99 in Reolink's own store with "blackfriday" coupon code (takes $5 off $74.99)

  • Ingot hikvision nvr woth camera. Can i add this one to the set? And is it plug n play?

    any poe ptz options?

    • The RLC-822A is Z, no PT (looks identical to this one)

  • Just put in an RLC-822A (the same thing but 3x optical zoom). Can't recommend it highly enough. One thing to note OP - this doesn't support Reolink Cloud recording yet. SD Card, Reolink NVR and ONVIF-compliant NAS (works sweet with Synology Surveillance Station), and FTP server.

    • Yeah, it doesn't support Cloud. Thanks for reminding me and sorry for the mistake, just corrected it.

    • Can I mix the 820A and 822A on the same NVR?

Did you have to pay for the Synology surveillance station to work via a licence?

  • Just want to ask who do you get to install these? Do you do it yourself? Was quoted by an electrician here in WA to install 4 cameras for $1200 which seems ridiculous.

    • +1

You need a registered cabler with a telecommunications endorsement to run the wires through your roof, I believe you can fit the cameras off yourself once the electrician has done the wiring.

If anyone is installing the cameras for profit, they must be a licensed security installer for CCTV.

An electrician isn't necessarily either of these. Though most can do network cable installs.

      • i am assuming by that your going to get a compliance letter for the works?

      • Thanks for clearing that up. A lot of other electricians don't want to to do it because they're not familiar with this brand and are afraid they might get blamed if something wrong happens to the system.

      • You don't need to be a registered cabler to run these cables as they are not connected to the telecommunications network, you can run them yourself. No license is required to install security, I'm a registered cabler and hold a few other licenses, but don't like to do security cameras for other people because the networking side is a PITA.
