About what a Fossil is worth. Would make a nice gift.

  • thanks OP

  • Ordered one thanks. One Christmas present down

  • Is the code NA or is there no code or is there no code?

    • no code requried.

  • Worth getting just for the Fossil leather strap (which are usually @ $69.00).

    • New galaxy watches are 20mm, watch3 are 22 mm. Not sure what size are these

Also, the Catch stock counter is BS, went down to 12 left then jumped back up to 23,
Just now dropped to 4 then back up to 13

      • Could that be from people popping them in carts but not checking out in time?

        • I did think that, or maybe could be due to change-of-minds but then its suddenly back in stock (see from ssmac below) several minutes later when supposed to be OOS.

    • That is assuming we get the real deal 😜
      Fingers crossed 🤞☺️

    44mm incase anyone is wondering

    Oos

same price at fossil itself ,oos already, but some other retailers may sell at the same price.

  • Gone, Had 30 in stock when I opened the page, did a little googling about the watch for 10 seconds, and came back only to see 'Out of stock'. smh!

  • Isn't fossil generally a bit of a cheapo brand?

    • +5

      By enthusiasts, yes.
Basic internals sourced from big name manufacturers, repackaged into their own watch cases, sold with a massive mark up. Their designs in general are all super simple and plain, which they market as being elegant but masks the fact they spent little money on designing and barely any on manufacturing.

At $40 though, this is a decent deal if you like the look and at the end of the day, people should buy watches that make themselves happy.

      • when you say enthusiasts, I'm assuming it's the people that would write off this watch and say the only real watches are made by brands such as Patek Philippe, Rolex or Monte Blanc?

        • +1

Probably, but even enthusiasts come in spectrums.

I think the core idea is to get what you pay for, a $200 watch with a $5 internal (movement) is a gouge, regardless of whether you're an enthusiast or not. The other smaller issue is if you buy a watch, you'd want one which has decent manufacturing quality (ie no dust inside the face or scratches on the watch), or getting some of the resale value out of it.

As far as cheap watches go Seiko makes really nice stuff. If you want something a bit different to the normal ozbargain special Vostok has a huge range of truly bulletproof stuff, with so many fun and quirky options.

Edit: while I generally wear a smartwatch for tracking activity and notifications when my hands are occupied at work, and I'm not a big watchhead, my daily mechanical watch otherwise is a Vostok SE720B35. Cheap, fun little watch and built like a tank. Will outlast every Fossil made, and every Fossil to be made:

But, if you like the Fossil, by all means buy it. But don't buy it thinking it's a premium product (the Seiko and Vostok aren't either, but you get more of what you pay for).

Same… showed as in stock when I bought.

  • Three days later, my order gets cancelled. I purchased it while it was in stock… Disappointed to say the least :(

Don't be disappointed. Mine arrived second hand and damaged.

  • In case this is ever relevant to anyone. Mine arrived today. It was second hand with some cling wrap put over the watch face (still with grease and dust stuck under it). It looks like a return or refurb that they've slapped a cheap new strap onto.

It arrived out of its box, with its stand broken. I do not recommend ever buying from Watch Station.

    • Mine arrived last week and didn't have any sort of issues. It is well packed and brand new with usual metal fossil box.

      • same here

      • That sounds like a much better experience than mine. I had originally missed the initial delivery, hence why I got mine later, so maybe they extremely rough handled it after - though it doesn't explain why it looks used with dust and finger grease.

I guess I have to try get a refund but it's a shame I'll miss out on the deal.
