  • is this really that much better than f80?

    • +2

This one is good for ultrawides(I use it with my X34P for 12 months now, and is fantastic). The F80 is great if you have a standard monitor though, and I wouldn't spend extra on this if you'e only got a 24/27" screen. I've had the F80 for a 27" Dell for 2 years now and hasn't missed a beat.

Depends on your needs. It holds more weight, and reaches higher and further out - if you need any of these things.

As an example, F80 (9kg, 27") could hold my curved 32" Dell S3221QS in landscape ok, but did not have enough vertical clearance to rotate the monitor into portrait - I had to swivel the whole arm away from the desk, rotate to portrait, and then swing the monitor back over my desk. (Size rating relates mainly to the rotational clearance.)

I have since switched it to a H80 (9kg, 30") - which is only rated to 30" but it does have enough clearance to rotate a curved 32".

An F100A (12kg, 35"), would work as well. The main reasons you would get the F100A is if you have an even larger/heavier monitor, or need the extra reach (max reach of 650mm vs 550mm on the H80 and H100). Or, you just prefer the style of arm base (angled arm vs vertical pole).

I have: 2x F80, H80 & H100. I am tempted to buy one of these to complete the set! lol

Thanks OP just copped one. Bought an ergotron for 280 for my Wacom a few months ago so will be nice to compare them

    • how do you use it with Wacom? can you explain or share a pic of your setup if you don't mind? Cheers

      • +1

I have a Wacom Cintiq 22" 1080p. They have the screw holes already built into the back of the panel for mounts.

The newer model Wacom Cintiq 24" 4k monitors are not as good IMO:
Double the price and have overheating issues due to being a 'slimmer' monitor because of pumping out 4k.
They also don't have the screw holes already in their panel which forces you to buy Wacom's attachment for that model so you can add an arm which is iirc, +/- $400? Wacom also sells their own brand arms which are around $700 LOL

  • Any good recommendations on how to hide the cables?

    • It has cable management built into the arm and base.

If that is not sufficient for you, then I dunno…some sort of sleeve to combine all cable would probably be what I would do.

      • Oh didnt know it did… there was some review videos where they didnt have it

        • You can see it being installed at the end of this video:
          https://youtu.be/MJTvg31pd8o

It's not the cleanest cable management, by any means…but it's there. (Optional to install)

  • Can this clamp on to a dining table? Or does it need a hole in the table to do its thing?

    • +3

yes, it can be mounted both ways.

      • Thanks mate

  • Thanks, just grabbed two.

  • Hi can the desk still be placed close to the wall or I'd have to move it to allow the space for the arm?

    I have a 34" curved wide angle.

    • +1

Yes it can still be close to the wall, just need to allow about 1cm for the clamp. This is how I have it set up.

      • Do you mind take a photo and show me how it is currently set up?

        • I've PM'd you.
