Oops, my bad. Fixed.
Tempting as my dual boiler is now 6yrs old and after one service last year it is starting to make steam noises inside.
I don't know if the coffee from the Oracle will be as good or better??
Does anyone have any direct experience comparing the actual coffee produced as that is what matters in the end?
The Dual Boiler is also on sale at $979 as well.
General feedback is if your an coffee enthusiast, a good grinder and Dual Boiler will yield better results. This takes a bit more time and effort to produce as its a manual process, for the mainstream, the Oracle is good machine balancing results and time and effort.

I was just wondering if the lazy option was just as good at actually making a decent coffee?
The brewing part is the exact same. The difference is the grinder and the auto tamp. They will be the limiting factor on the Oracle.

I use the Breville Smart Pro grinder, I'm guessing the top of the range Oracle has something similar?

This was a bad service - it should not make these type of noise.
Most likely there is a steam leak and it is most likely easy to fix. If you wait long enough the moisture will damage electronics and you will be up much more expensive repair.Yep I was thinking the same. I now have to find the time to hassle the service guy
I have this one, it's a good machine, but prices need to come down, it's still expensive. I bought it last year from HN for $1500.

Prices went up due to COVID, i recon it will be par to this.
I've just ordered one. Never know, it might go a little cheaper, but given how rarely these sub $2000 offers turn up (a year ago last time), I didn't want to miss out.

@belesci: Breville approved the gift, but then I got an email from David Jones saying "unable to fulfill this order".
@Jowey: How soon did you get the approval email from Breville? I selected Stainless Steel model as Black Sesame wasn't an option.

Someone at DJs clearly needs to fix their online store. Selling stuff you don't have doesn't really endear you to the customer base…
my order is showing as at dispatch, and they've taken payment from CC, does this mean it's likely to go through, or was that the case for you as well before they cancelled?
@Anvariel: They charged me and sent me a receipt, but later sent an email saying they'd refunded me. It was a few hours in between the two.
@caeci11ius: bummer, doesn't bode well for me then, I placed order yesterday around lunch time, got confirmation, but still haven't heard cancellation yet.
@Anvariel: If you haven't heard yet there's a fair chance you got one, so be careful you don't end up with two if you're gonna try anywhere else…
@Anvariel: I am the OP and I haven't received notice of dispatch. However if I check my order history, the order is listed as "Awaiting Carrier Collection".
@lxstr: Sounds as though they have allocated and packaged, so could be a good sign for you. Mine is "at dispatch" which is ambiguous, but kind of sounds like the product is waiting for them to organise a courier. Bit tricky, like @caeci11ius said, don't want to end up with 2 units, but I would kind of rather grab one in store from GG than risk DJs bailing on me.

You probably got lucky with someone who didn't check the model number. After all, the black sesame and the black truffle look essentially identical.

I have just been into The Good Guys who did me a price match at $1799 no trouble at all (per @Jowey above). They have the black sesame model (BKS) which is what they sold me - it's not on their website yet so I'm guessing they're going to do it as a special on Black Friday. So if anybody is keen to get one and beat the rush, they're there now…quite possibly in limited quantities based on the sellouts at DJs and Bing Lee. First in, best dressed!
