I popped these in my Amazon watchlist when they were $4 and they have come down to $1.75 or $1.58 for S&S. They do pop up cheaper than this too, but over 50% off is still very decent for an item that a lot of us need at one time or another.

I got these last time few days ago on a deal (1.25 each) and they have almost 8+ years of date remaining on them. The bad part was they shipped in a large cardboard box just for 2 of these. What an environmental waste.

Depends what you're using them for. Off all the computers I've had over the past 20 years or so, I think I've had to replace the battery twice?
They are pretty cheap, if you have prime and actually need a battery right now then go for it, otherwise they might sit in your draw for 8 years till they expire and or you lose them.
Another option is IKEA, they have 8-packs of these for $5

Bear in mind they’re probably close to the end of their shelf life, maybe 12-18 mths? Just don’t stock up on too many of em.
