  • The pedestal is even better value - $175 reduced to $103.

Regardless, both of these are extensions and require the base pack/transformer to work but are interoperable with each other.

  • So I can't just connect this with an extension to my 5m outdoor lightstrip?

    • You could as it works on the same system but the power supply with the 5m outdoor lightstrip is 40w which covers the lightstrip only and not the 8w of this lily extension. You could get the 100w power supply which is on sale for $80 i think and use that to power these outdoor lights.

      • You can drive 60-70w on the 40W PS that comes with the 5M unit. That’s 3 of the lily or pedestal 8w lights in the same circuit.

I have 2 calla 8w extensions and the 5m strip going as one set, on the 5m PS, with no problems so far.

also, a 5 calla set/loop, with the strip coming in later once I can mount the 2 extra strips to a wall or the driveway as a guide light, and an entrance “ring” doorframe if i can figure out how to get the power supplies in the patio or hide/obscure the white strips easily.

It might just be easier to get the Mercator zigbee / hue compatible square led panels for $100 but Idk if they’re outdoor rated.

From reading a Lily XL review, you can push the regular 20w to 40W PS up to 60-70w quite high with colour or default lighting, it’s the Bright White that uses the peak power limit on the strip.

I cant recall what the symptom of Hue’s low power is though, so it might need a dry run and indoor checking, before you wire up 5+ lights and strips and the strip starts flickering or partially lighting up as different colours due to voltage drop.

  • Shame there isn't a lily base kit on sale
