    Yes, Luxottica is essentially a cartel… but I've personally had a pair of Aviators that get worn almost daily for 8 years, have fallen off my head too many times to count and still look fantastic, fit great and haven't needed anything but a clean like any other pair of sunglasses. Also have another pair I've had for 4 years of Chromance Wayfarer style I wear a couple of times a week when I'm not driving and haven't exactly been wrapped in cotton wool, same deal as the Aviators, in great shape. Oh, bought another pair of Aviators 2 or so years ago just for a lark (the gradient lenses) and they look pretty much brand new. Had plenty of cheap sunnies in my time and given how I clearly treat them, never had any last anywhere near RBs.

    TL;DR - Totally disagree with your comment about the glasses themselves being cheap, definitely not in my experience. Just shop around and make sure you don't over pay.
