Specsavers introduce these promotions time to time. If this is one of the biggest you have seen, must be you are new to work 😁

      Shoud've gone to specsavers.

Any 1 for 149 is new. 2 for 199 happened a few times already

They did trial it in NSW and Vic? For 1 for 149, once only.

      This is now nationwide.

      • And yes you can use your health funds if you have any optical rebates.

I’m guessing you take the receipt and tax invoice to your health fund for some money back or do they process the rebate on the spot?

  • Is this any frame? Can you get 1x normal frame and 1x sunglasses? Any extra to get different lens options like polorised etc?

    • No. I previously bought 2 pairs rimless frame when Specsavers offered similar (?) promotion. I thought this is the same promotion - but when I check online, for two pair of rimless, the price is $399.

      • That’s what I usually get. Two pairs of rimless and the lens are not too thick.

    • Yes you can get one normal and one sunnies, however polarised coatings cost around $75 extra from my memory.

If you are not after expensive frames, they also run free polarisation on second pair every few months, which might be cheaper.
However, i prefer this deal over this, because we can get very nice frames, ultralight comes with free thin lens option, and can get 1.6 index + reactions lens with $350 titanium frames for just $75 extra.

be careful with the HCF "2 pairs no gap" deal which looks similar but is not the same.
HCF Deal is "2 pairs no gap, from the $199 designer range including standard single‑vision lenses.
SpecSavers : "Get any 2 pairs for $199, storewide!"

So if you pick 2 frames that are not from the $199 range, you will pay a gap with HCF.

Worth asking in individual stores. If the frames you choose are just slightly over your health insurer's price limit, some stores may be able to adjust the frame's price to match your health fund's limit.

    • @l2p10 any tips for buying to claiming from hcf? Can i just swipe the card and no need to pay first?

      • +1

All health funds do things differently. HCF is a funny one.

If I not mistaken, HCF does not pay anything towards extras, ie if you have anti glare/polarised, they don't pay any amount towards the extras. Only on frames and lenses.

It depends on your cover of coz. If your limit is 200, and you going for the any 2 for 199 deal, it should be fully covered (assuming no extras). As far as HCF concerns, you are spending 199 on frames and lenses.

*disclaimer I don't deal with health funds on regular basics. Best to check in store again

        • thx

  • Rayban Meta included? :)

  • Just sharing a deal at work. Probably one of the biggest I have seen.

Any 1 Pair Prescription Glasses for $149, or 2 Pairs for $199

Either "huh??" or the no-deal prescription glasses are overpriced as hell.

  • When is the offer for polarised sunglasses coming as I have been waiting a while for that one?

  • +2

    Just get from Zenni

      They are my go-to.

  • Currently on Ahm. Planning to churn phi. Any experiences on which phi can do a no-gap on optical?

  • +2

It's usually the options afterwards that put the price up

  • +4

Yeah, I've been suckered by Specsavers deals like this before.

They state a price. Then when you try to buy it at that price its plus so much for this and plus so much more for that.

I buy my glasses elsewhere now.

  • Got the three thin progressives for 119 USD from everyday muukai deal recently. Slow 2/3 week delivery. Was nervous. Extra 15usd per pair for my specialisations but this seemed the max extra you'd pay for lots of customisation unlike every other online and retail shop. E.g. Specsavers are other local details always seem single vision plus $$$ for every small modification. Same frames with Combos of: Ultra thin , full coatings, premium progressive, spring hinged, polarised, tr90 material, transitions and theraspecy tinted lenses …

Really happy why what I got. Most nervous about where the the invisible progressive line would fall as this is just one spot for online companies. It was a risk but $250aud for 3 fully speced, worked out. More than double for just one on pair on great special here.

Specsavers will have it for 2 for $199 plus polarising for $100, then the following promo will be 2 for $299 with free polarising

It's just shifting the costs under a different name like gyms who do cheaper yearly memberships but higher admin/joining fees.

My glasses felt a lot worse than the store demo and the vision correction was incorrectly prescribed so it was a total waste of time and money.

      So the downvote is because…?

Is $199 for any 2 not a deal?

  • Used this deal a couple of times already. I always get the rimless titanium ultralights and/or prescriptions sunnies. Good deal for me.
