Every time I've cracked this one out it's been a riot of laughter (the sort of silly but cry-laughing charades fun), even with different groups.
If you know your group gates charades, then I would reconsider but otherwise it is absolutely brilliant.
Does this game hold up ok in Australia? I've heard it can be very US-heavy in its themes
There's quite a selection of US centric cards but most are universal. Not knowing a card is also part of the game as you work to deduce them from experience in the early rounds.
I played the print n play version a couple of times and some of the topics are generational and heavy on the United Kingdom so there was a lot of passing from the teenagers. That issue aside, it was a fun game.
I played the "before the game each player writes 5 cards with random words or phrases, and then we shuffle it all and draw one each turn" version of this game, so I see no reason to pay $30 for printed cards.
If your players are creative and like putting in the effort to think of content, then there's no reason for you to buy these.
The people I play with prefer a quick and effortless start to the game so this is great for that.
