knobbs and I are organising a Brisbane meetup!
Our Brisbane meetup will be at Big Roddy's Rippin' Rib Shack - Fortitude Valley @ 86 McLachlan St, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006 from 12pm Saturday (11/12/2021). Reasons to come include:

  • Free meal
  • Free soft drink
  • Win a free OzBargain t-shirt

  • Free Not a Bot virtual badge.
  • Free Meet & Greet with SEQ OzBargain enigmas!

All attendees are required to have an OzBargain account as well as comment and vote below.
Please PM me any dietary restrictions before the event so that we can cater for you.
Please keep your attendance up to date so we can keep the venue organised. It's difficult to plan with no-shows/unexpected guests.

T-Shirts:

  • Put your size request in your RSVP comment.

FAQ (updated as people ask questions):

Q: Soft drinks are great but can I have a beer/wine/tequila shot?

A: Yes, drinks can be purchased from the bar.

Q: Can family/partners/friends attend?

A: Everyone needs to have an OzBargain account, and comment their attendance below.

Q: Are there any age limits?

A: There is no age limit. However, those under 13 will have to purchase their own meal.

Q: Will there be meetups in other cities?

A: Yes, see meetups below.

    Should I feel bad that I got a free feed thanks to OzBargain who receives most of their revenue from ads but I run an adblocker?

      You can actually turn off ads in your account settings but it’s probably the one website I’d allow ads for.

    Although the total number of attendees was called out as one of the trivia questions, I didn't hear the answer clearly. Can anyone confirm the number who attended?

    I think the poll peaked at over 120 who said they would attend, but some have since revoked their vote.

      Thanks for coming. The venue had to do it at the counter for it to be put on one bill otherwise you would have had to pay. Glad to hear your enjoyed it.

    Thanks everyone for coming and stickyfingers for organising it. Just thought I would give an update on the prizes.
    On the day we had prizes sponsored by AminoZ, TechFast & Creative Labs. BudgetPC were also sending over some prizes but AusPost in all their wisdom delayed shipping so I still haven't got them. Stickyfingers and I will be working on likely a randomised giveaway for the Sennheiser gear that BudgetPC sent as well as some of their polos. We have everyone's name who attended so you don't need to do anything or PM anyone about it. Only tricky part is you getting the prize, as they are being delivered to my place in Brisbane.

    If you missed it on the day AminoZ have supplied a 22% discount code on all AminoZ branded supss "AZ22" so feel free to use that to top up on some WPI or pre-workout (which I personally rate value wise)

    On a related note, would people be keen on other meetups outside of the annual birthday events? Something more along the lines of a smaller scale casual get-together over food/drinks (pay your own) and a chat about bargains and stuff.
