  • This or a X90j/95j?

In store when I compared, the Sony just looked better

From Rtings reviews, these higher end Samsung are great for light filled areas as they get brighter and have better reflection handling. Sony has better local dimming and contrast to better for night time viewing which is when I get a chance to watch something. So I went for Sony X90J.

    • I am pretty sure the X90J has a VA panel, while the QN85/QN90 is APS in Australia. I got the QN90 for a fairly bright room and it is crazy bright.

    • That’s sort of why I’ve been looking for this in particular to pop up. It’s going in a bright room on a wall with a 4m high ceiling. So I could get the 65” LG C1 for a similar price or this 75” which will look bigger on my massive wall and potentially perform better being a bright room.

  • I have the 55inch. The glass covering the screen is actually very reflective. So yes, the TV bright enough for a light filled room, but unless you want to just look at reflections of your windows, and you sitting on the couch, you will need to close your blinds!

    • Thanks for the feedback. This is a deal breaker for me!

  • So fellow Ozbargainers, based on your valuable knowledge and trend analysis, should I jump in now or wait for Boxing day sales ?

    • These deals will be on par if not better, most of the time.

Avoid buying from Appliance Central. We bought a Miele Triflex vacuum cleaner in September that arrived faulty. They are yet to replace, repair or refund. They don't want to know you once they get your money.

Cheers. Based on this alone I'll keep waiting.
