No. Just a smartdns. I use Getflix.

  • any other option for payment other than Amex. I tried my master/visa cards but it did not worked.

Yeah payment has always been a stumbling block for me with Hulu.

I haven’t tried but try Revolut or Zip Pay single use cards?

      • Tried with zip pay single use card, didn't work.

        • I just tried Revolut and that didn’t work either

Sign up with a US PayPal account and add your credit card to that. That’s what I’ve been using for years to pay for my sister’s Hulu and never had an issue.

  • Thanks. The $1.99USD black friday special from last yr finishes in 2 day so perfect timing. Thanks OPS

How bad are the ads on this plan?

    • +1

Less annoying then watching catchup tv on 7/9/10. Annoying if you're not used to them. IIRC its was around every 10 mins.

  • Tried my NAB, Coles MasterCard and St George cards and no dice. Funny enough my St George card worked back in 2016 and had Hulu for 3 years and then I cancelled, but now it won't accept it.

Wise top up card also didn't work with US funds.
Hulu really got a secure payment blocking system 😤

I also tried creating a US PayPal account but I can't get any free USA numbers to work. Guess no more Hulu for me lol.

We had a Hulu sub for years where my Citi and Macquarie cards worked fine but none of my cards have been accepted in the last 2yrs or so, so I gave up trying.

    • I used my Citi Debit card for last year's deal. This year I used my US Paypal on a different Hula account.

Is hulu any good? How does the ad supported work?

  • Ad supported Hulu is so awful.

    Worth paying commercial free IMO

    • Hulu is owned by Disney. The main benefit is that they have connections with all the major U.S. Tv networks, so a lot of their content goes to Hulu first before being accessable by other providers. You also have access to HBO with an additional fee.

Ad supported Hulu, either shows one big Ad or a sequence of smaller ones. Unfortunately you will get sick of frequent U.S. pharmaceutical, insurance and car ads. Just use an Ad blocker.

  • Does anyone have issue with verifying your email address when creating account? I tried a few of my email addresses and have no luck :(

    • I had the same problem. Ended up using a US VPN and got it through. But unfortunately, no way to pay for it since I don't have any AMEX card. :(

      • Even my amex got declined.

      • I used by 28degree card through my paypal US account.

  • my cards never worked, i gave up 2 years ago and it seams that others have same problem. if anyone have it working then I am willing to share with them.p;pll

  • Yeah none of my payment methods are working. If someone gets it working I’d be happy to jump on and split the year subscription?

  • Might be time to open a US paypal I think

Thanks! Tried ING, ANZ and Revolut to no avail. Went through without issue using an AMEX issued locally. For postcode I just added a trailing 0 to my actual postcode to meet the 5 digit requirement; I'm not sure if that made a difference.

    • Thanks for this, adding a 0 to my Aus postcode made the difference for me. Didn't work when I tried a random US postcode with my AMEX.

    • Thanks so much. Worked for me adding 0 after my aus postcode and using amex.

  • Been trying to cancel my current sub which is due to expire in two days but the site (in mobile) is saying that it cannot process my request since the site is down.

On the desktop (PC), I get this message:

'Fastly error: unknown domain: www.hulu.com. Please check that this domain has been added to a service.
    Details: cache-sjc10077-SJC'

Streaming shows is working just fine though.

Anyone else having the same issue?

    • +1

Goto account, click on California Privacy rights, than delete account.

  • great

  • None worked including my international Transferwise card.

  • I guess this is not a 12 month deal that I can cancel straight away and retain access for the 12 months? Have to set a reminder and cancel in the last month right?

  • Trying to use Amex and one comes up saying not eligible, another just comes up with the same card error as other non-Amex cards :( None of my other cards or even Wise (Transferwise) card work either.

edit: finally worked with my dad's Australian amex!

  • I have a us PayPal account and getflix but it still doesn't work.
