[SUBS] Guillermo Del Toro's: Frankenstein (2025) Movie Stream from 7 Nov, Drop/Woman in the Yard Streaming from 9 Nov @ Netflix

300

There are no links to the two "Coming Soon" movies yet.

Guillermo Del Toro's: Frankenstein (2025) looks long but great. he is famous for Pan's Labyrinth (actually found this movie very difficult to find on streams) which was great and I loved the monsters design and realistic effects. "Nightmare Alley" was also long but good I liked it.
he also made "The Shape of water" which involved a lady bonking a hybrid sea furry, but let's just forget about that one. 😂

Guillermo del Toro’s reimagining of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel ‘Frankenstein’, sees the titular scientist (Oscar Isaac) create a horrific monster more terrifying than the wildest imaginations.

Drop (2025) is some kind of thriller. (sorry Blumhouse thriller, might be a yawn fest. others were movies such as House of Spoils, The Invisible Man was ok)

A widowed mother decides to finally get back into dating. After a successful match, she meets up with a charming man at an expensive restaurant. Soon, however, she begins to receive anonymous text messages that threaten her children’s safety. The drops keep coming to her phone as she navigates the disturbing orders of the mysterious perpetrator.

Woman in the Yard (2025) A24 horror film, is also coming to Prime video 31/10 end of this month according to Justwatch.
a lot of people tore this to shreds online after seeing the trailer. idk can't really judge it so confidently from the trailer imo, but worth knowing.

After the death of her husband, Ramona is struggling with her grief. She moves with her two children to a small farmhouse in order to be away from her regular life. But when a mysterious woman appears in their yard, dressed in all black and repeating a warning, she is shocked and afraid.

I haven’t watched a genuinely good movies for years. It seems movies are dying. I was hyped for Sinners, Weapons but they are all disappointing

perhaps you should lower your expectations and/or hype level…apparently it only leads to disappointing….for years now?

I'm seeing it in cinemas, where I believe is the best waybti watch Del Toro's films.

    • I'm seeing it in cinemas

true fan…multiple viewings…how many tickets did you get?

    • Ditto.
The timing seems odd with this one - it is in cinemas now and arrives on streaming, what, a week later?

      • +1

Netflix is publishing it. They put it in Cinemas for a couple of weeks to make them eligible for Oscars, and hopefully make a dollar or two.

        • Yeah I saw it last night at the flicks and when it started with the Netflix logo it made sense.

  • OP has certainly got this corner of Ozbargain covered…more of a PSA but personally i am happy for the heads up once again to add to my future dl list

As an aside - do you actually watch all the movies you post?

    • As an aside - do you actually watch all the movies you post?

yeah most of them. sometimes I just include a extra new release even though I'm not interested in it, because it's literally right there in the recently added section.

I don't think I post them that much btw. I just really got on a roll when on my 4 months HBO Max sub.
I noticed a lot of new releases in the last few months on Netflix and Disney. just didn't bother posting. Woman in Cabin 10, A Complete unknown, The Man in the Basement, those are just the ones I can remember right now.

    People still subscribe to netflix?

  • His movie "The Devil's Backbone" is one of my favourites

    • I watched that one. yes the fetuses. it was a bit deep for me. plot was like lady taking care of people in a church in a tiny town, during war or something.

but tbf I remember pan's labyrinth also was during war.

Been meaning to check that out.

  • Caught this at the movies last week, definitely worth seeing on the big screen if you get the chance

  • Cronos is an all time favourite

  • Drop and Woman in the Yard are both Blumhouse unfortunately.

    • oh mb.

I just remember the first comments under the trailer on youtube when it was posted, they definitely mentioned it being another "A24 slop film".

I guess the ragebaiters didn't do their research before commenting. 😂

+1 for the spot-on one-line review. We were "what the hell was that?"

  • No, it's pronounced Fronkensteen.

  • Very excited for Frankenstein. Pan's Labyrinth is one of my all time favourites and one of the few movies I have on Blu-Ray that I will never discard.

    • Pan's Labyrinth is one of my all time favourites

      yes 💯 agree.

the only reason I haven't watched it again, is it's never on any streams??! I think it was on SBS on demand at one point but it expired.
but maybe that's a good thing because I mostly have forgotten the plot now.

    • Does it have English version?
