  • Is it Aussie stock? Love the deal if so. I paid $888 less than a week ago at Harvey Norman, and that itself was a great deal. Mind you mine was right here, right now, and definitely Aussie stock.

Note for all: Free delivery, and expires in 6 days or till stock runs out.

    • i would assume it isnt Australian stock because it comes with the US charger with an AU travel adapter..

      • It also badged the Kiss X5 which is not Aussie stock either

    • It is EOS Kiss X5 - so no. That particular model comes with two language options (Japanese and English) and may default to Japanese initially. Would be good to have a mate that can read Japanese or Chinese to help you switch it to Engligh.

Good price… though twin lens kit is generally not a good idea. Single Lens Kit one goes for $600… so basically $95 for the other zoom lens (good value for money I guess). Still, I would prefer to save that $95 and fork out a bit more for the 50mm f/1.8 prime lens.

I speak Japanese so if anyone gets stuck, PM me :).

I think the twin lens kit is fine for people starting out with digital photography, since you get a feel for how different lenses work before you commit to more expensive glass. That's just my opinion (and experience) of course.

  • It says that "warranty is professionally serviced through us from Canon". I'm guessing this means that the warranty will be handled by Canon but you'll need to send the camera in to them when/if a fault arises?

Good deal despite it being a grey/Japan import model.

Honestly, in theory, they will do the warranty for you… But this is eBay, after they receive the money for the purchase, I wouldn't expect top notch warranty service.

Best not to assume you will get decent warranty service. Make sure the price is right. Anyway, with DSLR, even with proper warranty service, it is still going to be time consuming.

  • I have added the statement in the description about Japanese/English firmware. As it says, Australian users should not have any problem using it.

  • It says 84 buyers before the deal is activated, I wonder how many buyers are required to activate the deal

    • If it's a group buy that's not active then it shouldn't be posted here yet. Group buys can only be posted once active.

      • Oh, I didn't know about the group buying guidelines. My apologies.

What happens if, while OzBargain members wait for it to be active and by the time it is active, the lot is gone? What if the number of items available = number of items it takes the deal to be activated?

        (just a general question.)

        • I'd say that means it can't be posted as a deal on OzBargain. It can go in forums of course.

  • Deal not active, unpublished.

    • My bad, I didn't know/check group buying guidelines. Apologies.
Will the same deal be published by the mods one it is active or new submission needs to be made? Just asking.

    • The deal is active. Can you please publish it now?
      Thanks.

    • no problems, deal republished.

  • This just torments me more… how come they never do a group buy on Nikon D5100……

  • All sold out about 6:30 pm today. That's 800 in just a couple of days.
