        Don't eat the potatoes after using them as a battery. Chemical changes occur in the potatoes.

          Metal slowly dissolves from the strips into the potato in a chemical reaction. That will make the potato poisonous and taste bad.

      You'd need a fair few potatoes even for that :) One potato battery generates 0.5V at 0.2mA.

      Get more wires and hook them up in a parallel circuit hence when one dies the others will pick up the slack, so possibly 3-4 in a parallel circuit.
